General Marvel Legends

This just isn't Shanna to me. If you do an image search for her, The only one that you can see her wearing boots in is the marvel snap card, which appears to be this costume. It doesn't have to be Super skimpy, but with no animal print on the hide clothing and no bare feet, this might as well be an extra from One Million Years BC. (Oh wait, most of the extras were barefoot.) This is a good cave woman figure or Sharella from MOTU, but not Shanna for me.

Cannot fault any of this. It's weird which characters I will/ won't get picky about ... like, I haven't bought the new Iron Fist because his shirt opens wrong (v-neck, dammit).

In my perfect world, she'd be in her bronze age debut costume.

Mostly just wanted to shout-out the "One Million Years B.C." reference. Love me some Harryhausen.

Shanna looks great. Could make a decent base body for customs, too.
In an age where it seems like nobody is held accountable for what they say, I'm glad we have Ignore function back, for people like him.
He's welcome here, but he can forget about throwing around insults and bullying people.

Talking with a friend today who's a comic book historian who sold me on wanting an original look for Shanna (redder hair, the leopard-spotted outfit) but I'm still super psyched for this one. Good convergence of a few of her looks and we really didn't have to wait long to get the Savage Land trio, which is very cool.

Zero interest in the character (she was only in one or two of the Kazar related stories I've read--and was nothing more than a background player), but that is a fantastic looking toy.

I was miffed about the Vneck as well. That open square bottom is only on the modern look. It is impossible to customize due to the way it is constructed to be classic. But, it was close enough for me to want to get him, unlike the Shanna figure that doesn't have any cues of what makes Shanna Shanna to me.

I'm mostly unfamiliar with the character so here's a visual reference to that look I assume both of you are referring to; please correct me if that's wrong. When you both said this I figured Shanna first appeared with Ka-Zar back in the 1930s pulps, but I couldn't find evidence that's true. All I could find was she first appeared in this Marvel comic from 1972.

This costume doesn't look particularly risque so I assume Hasbro could have done it if they chose to.

Yep, that's the one! And my logic exactly: it's not super revealing, so it could arguably have been done.

Hasbro gave her boots as a favor to all of the collectors of Legends. Had they not, all of the foot fetish people would have bought up all the stock and made her one of the hardest to acquire figures in the line.

And also because they're just going to turn this into a Savage Land Rogue at some point, right?

I don't really see any controversy with this version of Shanna. In fact, if someone had said 'Hasbro is making Shanna' - this is pretty much what I would have expected. Not because Hasbro won't make the version everyone wants, but because they know that's the version everyone wants and they can get two sales out of giving you this one first. That's a TOTAL Hasbro move. Plus, this completes giving us a set of Ka-Zar and Shanna to replace the old version, without actually -remaking- those two figures yet.

Also, in my opinion, this one goes better with the Ka-Zar we got. I tend to associate barefoot Shanna with barefoot Ka-Zar, myself.

I didn't realize this WASN'T classic Shanna until reading this thread. This is just what I pictured in my mind when I hear the name Shanna the She-Devil (true story my cousin's name is Shanna and she was a real She-Devil in her younger years).

I'd still take a leopard print costume version at some point but if this is the only version that gets made then I'm ok with that too.
