General Marvel Legends

I can not believe how much the VHS Peter and Smythe pack is going for. I kept hemming and hawwing at that one, thinking "No way that one sells out". Oops.
Had no idea these were going for that much! I knew DD was worth a lot, but not all of them. I sold off my extra Smythe way too early.

I have all of these in a pile just waiting to get around to making a Spidey Animated Shelf. I don't know why I'm just not motivated to do it.

Bonus points if they include swappable parts to recreate the Ron Perlman Pennywise monstrosity that was her first doll

(in terrifying "Evil Dead" style Deadite voice) "EAT YOUR WHEATCAKES PETER! DON'T MAKE AUNT MAY UPSET"!

Yeah, that Nick Nolte like Aunt May figure was really something. LOL!

At the time that we got the animated Doc Ock / Aunt May bundle, a May figure had been #1 on my most wanted list for quite some time and I thought that it would never happen. Even though it's not the figure that I wanted, I still took it as a win and have moved on, not expecting that we'll ever get another. It also helped that I pretty quickly sold the Doc Ock for more than I payed for the 2-pack, so the Aunt May figure was essentially free for me.

That figure has to be in the running for worst figure ever produced by a major company as a licensed figure. There is nothing about it that is good -
  • The likeness, terrible - absolutely terrible
  • The articulation, just look at the wrist joints
  • The soft goods, makes the figure an amorphous blob instead of a frail woman
  • The paint apps, those eyebrows are too high and too thin - I am sure hoping to minimize the high forehead
  • The rooted hair, from the side she looks bald from the top of her earlobes down

This was 1999. It's not super articulated but I feel like it still holds up as a decent representation on the shelf.

I wasn't certain what I was looking at with that 97 Aunt May for a second, I thought perhaps "Mama's Family" had a toy line I wasn't aware of. It looked like an unused Scooby Doo villain, "The Curse of the Lunch Lady Phantasm" in "Hairnet Horrorshow." Like Larry Bird is all prepped for his stint in a women's prison.
