General Marvel Legends

$27.99 is definitely the new standard MSRP as Jay reported last week on Marvelous News when Emperor Doom showed up at that price. We discussed that somewhere in the forum for days, although I don't recall which thread(s).

I am hearing from various sources that starting with yesterday's Marvel Legends Emperor Doom figure, Hasbro has officially raised their MSRP on standard Marve

Slyde better come with an inexplicably slick covering over him, or he won't be accurate!

Legends are already $28 in my neck of the woods, which means they'll proably be about 32 or so in big box stores, maybe 35 or so in LCS. Lovely.
 
I'm honestly really happy that I've basically run through all of my must-haves for Marvel once Rachel is out and I've got the newer Mystique and Storm. There's stuff I might get if it looks good, but I feel like my X-Men/Marvel shelf pretty well reflects my wants. Everything else is a "if I've got the money and really like it" sort of situation. TBF, I've been looking for a way to bring my collecting of figures in for a landing for a while. The price hike isn't really putting stuff outside my budget, but seems like as good a reason as any.
 
Deathbird's not all-new, her legs are Lilandra's. But this is good re-use and those legs are great. Because they sculpted the details.

Agreed. Kingo from Eternals and I think it was the Scott from Antman & The Wasp both needed a neutral head as well. They did it with the Infinity Saga Dark World Thor at least.
 
All y'all not wanting character expressions on your action figures... le sigh.

I'd so much rather have Kingo raising his eyebrow than blank-faced. Blank-faced expressions, ESPECIALLY ones sculpted in computers OR from digital scans, have very little character - they look just like the actor's bored face while in the scanning truck. An expression turns that scan or render into the character.

I'm all for both, but if I get one, give me some expression!
 
I'm somewhere in the middle, but definitely skew a little more toward expressions. Especially if they're a wise-cracker, having a blank or serious expression doesn't quite feel like it fits the character. Eternals were actually a pretty good representation of this- Kingo, Makkari, and Sprite all had nice, fitting expressions. Even Sersi and Phastos had subtle expressions, it seemed. Or the Peter/Ned 2 pack. Neither were perfect likenesses, I don't think, but I think the smiling Peter head definitely fit the character a bit more. All these characters have their serious moments, granted, but nothing bums me out quite like getting an overly serious headsculpt for a less-than-serious character. It would be like sewing Deadpool's mouth shut or something.....
 
To me it's not an either/or situation with expressions versus stoic faces. All figures should come with both in 2025. I prefer a full alternate headsculpt to faceplates, but the faceplates are better than only one head with one expression.
 
I'm okay with expressive faces if they don't look utterly bizarre, which I feel Scott Lang and Kingo do. A playful smile or smirk etc, great if it doesn't look like they photoshopped the expression on a face that was neutral.

i'm with ya, I had to wait so long for a steve rogers that was actually smiling, took way too long
