General Marvel Legends

Sometimes the prop stuff looks like something I'd want to buy, but I have a Mando helmet and two lightsabers I CANNOT find a home for in my house or store easily, so I tend to skip them. A wolverine mask or Cap shield would be awesome but I've proven to myself I'm not organized enough for that.

Ah, I wonder if the inexplicable "we've charged your card" notification I got from Pulse was She-Hulk and something else that added up to a random total. I couldn't figure out what was shipping based on the price and of course the charge never actually tells you...

The only prop I’ve grabbed has been Doom’s mask, because, well, it’s DOOM and we may be entering a time when all future Doom things are gonna be MCU for a time so I wanted to get *my* Doom while the getting’s good.

Just got in the Madame Masque and Crossbones set. it's a really fun set, and I love all the accessories. I mentioned on here before I was excited about the AIM briefcase and money, and it didn't disappoint lol. I'm having too much fun with it.

But I didn't have a Madame Masque figure yet, so it's nice to get her and I really like the look of this version.

I’m pretty much obsessed with Crossbones from this set. He’s just . . . awesome. I carried him around with me all weekend, even had him backstage for a bit between scenes. The intimidating sculpt, the stature, the texturing, the fact that he’s got fists for brawling and also properly hinged trigger hands for pew-pews is just great. Also he scares the hell out of my wife. She remarked that this version of Crossbones must be what all the MAGA stolen-valor cosplayers are trying (and failing) to look like. Can’t say I disagree with her.

Madame Masque is also very cool but she does have a VERY long neck, or at least her classic head sits very high on the peg.

My Masque/Crossbones set arrived today too. Haven’t opened it yet but I see that his mask paints are very sloppy and he reuses modern Hercules’ legs with pinned knees. Not thrilled about that.

I got two sets, one had immaculate mask paint and one . . . slightly less so. Made #2 a paint project and cleaned the lines up while also adding a slight black paint wash to the white for some weathering. I dig the result, but I’d be peeved if I didn’t have a crisp and clean one as well.

And yeah, the pinned legs are a bummer. Sculpt is great and I don’t really notice it much aesthetically, but the difference in firmness of joints between the elbows and the knees is quite extreme.

I think the props sell well to a different audience than toy collectors which is why it's always MCU based. You often see them in the background of people's Youtube videos, less so toys.

Mine just showed up and I won't have time to break them out of the packaging for a few hours, but just want to mention that Amazon just slapped a label on the box and raw-dogged these action figures in their own box. Glad I'm not a mint on box guy cos Madam Mask's entire portrait on the back was a shipping label.

Mine was shipped in the brown cardboard shipper. But I’ve heard and seen a lot of instances where they just slapped the label on the window of the package.

The one I'm splitting with Vicious came today and it was in a paper shipping bag thankfully. I don't need the whole world knowing my business. I pulled out my Madame Masque and got Crossbones ready to ship to him.

She is a decent figure but like was mentioned above her neck is a bit giraffey. Definitely still a vast improvement over her original figure, Lady Graynipples.

I'm ready too, baby, lets take it to DMs... 😘

Just a little aside, maybe it helps maybe it doesn't, but I've never had them sticker a toy I marked as a gift. And if they did, you'd then have the Karen power to righteously complain that it was a gift and now looks like garbage. Treats them right for shipping that way.

Great idea, but honestly, for me it's less "ruined by a sticker" and more "welp, now I gotta explain to my partner why there's MORE action figures... AGAIN" :)
