General Marvel Legends

Oh you... think its too tall. I'll pour one out for ya, I think it'd make an awesome comic version.
Yeah, after I was posting I figured maybe you thought I meant bulky because I said 'too big' - which is a fair way to read that. I like how bulky he is, actually.

The bulk is what reminded me of the 90s... height... dunno we'll see when we get it in hand.

To be totally fair here, I'm desperately hoping I'm just being an anxious toy collector here and that actually the height is fine. It's a sore spot for me because after all these many many many many many years, I feel like ML has finally mostly gotten Logan's figure height in a pretty good, and consistent, spot. I would hate to go back to ML3.

That would obviously be disappointing, I dont think we've seen anything indicating he's that tall. And I think he'll get into a much deeper crouch than we've seen with an ML Wolverine due to that waist rocker pivot thing he has.

Inside of me lives two bears. One has wanted a graduation uniform Cyclops since I started collecting Marvel Legends; the other doesn't care for the softness of design that comes with animation figures. I wish he had more dynamic boot cuffs and flared gloves and didn't come 2-packed with a Jean I don't want, but I'm still going to get him because I want this specific Cyclops look and Hasbro has shown themselves to be very willing to drop this version in a 2-pack and then not speak of him again for 8 years.

Meanwhile, there are also two wolves in there, one who is excited about finally starting a New Mutants training team with Sunspot, and another who knows that this is an X-Men '97 figure and there were no other New Mutants in that show. Oh, and that anti-animation bear is here too, pointing out how smooth cartoon hair is on a figure. I mean, of course I'm getting him, but the real question is do I get a second? I don't care for Cypher and it's too short to be Cannonball, but boy would it look great painted all in black with some Can of Beams Kirby crackle attached to him.

Once a release date for the new Cyke is public, Ebay will likely be flooded with the old Byrne Cyclops. So if the old one appeals, he's within reasonably-priced reach. Especially if you want to think of it as the new one costs $50.

My guess is that this is our one training uniform Bobby, and that if/ when we get another comics version, it's the powered-up version, hopefully to coincide with others comics New Mutants.

Now, the problem this creates is that there is a 0% chance the uniform tones match between releases if the tooling is reused for comics Cypher or Cannonball.

What really has me excited is a potential female training buck -- there is *so* much reuse potential there.

I'm not buying the Magic Agent Venom, but if I was, I'd steal his goo grips for Groot so he could finally re-enact GOTGv3 properly.

And Iron MJ's head I'll be swapping onto the TRU civilian Mary Jane body - I have her and Spidey swinging and this hair will help that SO MUCH. Hope the skintones aren't too different.

But both of these are wait for a sale. Unless I can offload the card for a good amount.

Can’t believe those Magic card ones are gonna be $40. They all look incredible, but that is an absolutely crazy markup. Unless the figures are produced in the smallest numbers ML has ever done, those cards are gonna be worth just about nothing.

My Gen Z son is really interested in the Agent Anti-Venom, but knows how scorched Earth Magic collectors are. He believes there will be real competition for these.

I countered that it might be an opportunity for profit, but we'll see.

I will say while I like the body this Cyclops is on much more than the old Bucky Cap body, I don't like the colors on it nearly as much as the old one. I love those bright blue highlights on that one.

He just pops on the shelf so much!

I prefer the old one as well, particularly the head, and especially the cowl around the mouth being broader under the visor as opposed to what the show did ('97 animation vs. actual comic look.

I do find it odd that they didn't include a mullet head for Phoenix II, maybe they plan on making her other Excalibur Phoenix costume, similar to how we got 2 Banshees.

They gave mother a brand new torso, arms, cape, and pinless legs, and STILL reused that same hair from 2018. Oh hasbro, never change

It’ll probably just depend on how useful the card is. If the in-toy card is really useful for play and the non-toy version of the card ends up rare, then the toys will just end up being a cheap way to get an alternate version of the card since the toy would be easy to resell.

If the toys come with common cards that just have a limited edition deco then they might end up being something neither set of collectors wants to pay $40 for.

There was certainly something for everyone here. X-Men in general are not high on my list as I have most of what I want now, I would love to have Jean and Cyke but being Pulse exclusives might prevent that. Mephisto is a huge want but same issue. Mainly because I don't have a credit card to use. Might have to work something out my best friend to use his card and pay him back. Starfox/Champion are must buys. Hopefully a fan channel 2 pack. A great showing overall this year.
