I didn't even know the eyes on 80th Cap were an issue for people! The heads on mine are either totally fine or I've just never noticed him looking askance at me.

What are the pink and purple things in the packaging? Is that supposed to be part of his hypnosis capabilities?
 
I think all the Caps are imperfect. I use the 80th with a properly sized shield from a later release. Some dumb modern Cap I had to buy for a BAF or something. I don't love any of the heads for Cap. I don't dislike any really either but none just nail it. I take the 80th Cap neutral head as probably the "best". 20th Cap eye holes are too tight. Secret Wars Cap expressions are all the way mad or happy and don't really have a base level.

This might drive some people crazy but I don't really like the super light on Cap either. He's been colored a lot of ways so it isn't as if its illegitimate but I think his blue should be darker than the classic FF blue but lighter than the classic Spidey blue. Basically Kirby's late Silver age Cap look is my "ideal" Cap. His costume IS supposed to reference the American flag; baby blue doesn't seem right. Even if it was used back in the 4 color comic days so the detail on his costume didn't totally disappear.

I'd say the 80th Alex Ross Cap comes closest to the actual flag colors, but comics don't always represent him in those exact flag colors. I think the 20th Toy Biz card Cap has the ideal colors for me.
 
The more baby-blue coloring just feels more like “classic Cap”. Like I prefer darker tones, totally, but like if I have a group of Marvel heroes together it just *feels* like Cap should be rocking that lighter blue.
 
Real US flag blue is too dark. I just like it a touch in that direction like in the later Tales of Suspense issues and the Colan & Kirby bronze age Cap comics. Just a preference. All the colors are "right".
 
So, as someone who doesn't need the Savage Land ladies, but who did miss on Sauron, y'all who've already got him and are picking up this set keep a fella in mind.
