General Marvel Legends

pearl-clutching evangelicals
I wish companies would realize that the best way to deal with these fools is to IGNORE them. Bending over backwards not to upset these regressive goons is what’s gotten our country so horribly out of whack. They can just not buy the damned thing and go be Big Mad on their own time.
It’s just so childish.

I thought Ryan gave an interview saying as much during the campaign.

A Mephisto two-pack (with Robbie, I think) is rumored for this year. Like half of Hasbro's releases come out through Fan Channel now, anyway.
I think Hasbro is starting to realize if they go Fan Channel they can reasonably get about as much sell through of some figures as they would at retail. That could be my imagination though. Either way I'd expect that to be where a Mephisto lands, if he was deluxe or a 2-pack.

I don't think there is any explicit "rule" in place that Hasbro "can't" do Mephisto. I think it comes down to them being reluctant to release a "satanic" themed figure to retail because of the possible backlash from pearl-clutching evangelicals who might stumble across it in the aisles of their local Walmart. Hasbro released Hellstrom in a fan-channel only wave, so this somewhat backs up this idea in that they only released a character with a pentagram on his chest to more collector-oriented outlets. I know Hasbro got some negative press several years ago over the Leia in her Jabba slave garb figure by some evangelical dad who raised a stink about it.
As a punk rocker/casual metalhead and Witchblade and Spawn fan, I understand the thought behind this, but I am specifically looking for the Receipt. Just for my own piece of mind.

I missed that leak! I have heard Ryan said, but I can't find it and I don't want to scrub the YouTube crowd for hours just because this is my hyperfixation for the next ten hours.

Years ago I settled into the mindset that any of these sides are just trying to drive engagement by being divisive because that's how Algorithm and Money work if you're doing Content.

I think you have to be careful about taking what they say during a campaign where they're trying to meet a funding goal as gospel. I think a lot of this talk stems from one of the big 3 saying "these figures aren't coming out retail" at a convention during the EoV Campaign, which of course they're going to say when they're trying to drum up support for their over-priced car.

Probably. Though also likely Hasbro feels like they would have a hard time getting retail onboard for a figure of a guy who could easily be mistaken for Satan, more so than a guy with a pentagram. And given that it’s Disney, the people who would be loudest about such a thing already have their crosshairs on the company. They could probably get away with doing Mephisto via fan channel or whatever, but even then if it gets the attention of the wrong person on a slow news day it could become a thing the company would rather not deal with.

Yeah I guess it IS a good thing Hasbro has Fan Channels for that kind of product.

That's my prediction from a few days ago: either Mephisto (probably with his throne) or Rachel in her Hound/Phoenix look with a flame firebird will be the Kang and his throne for this year. Revealed tomorrow night when SDCC opens or during the Hasbro reveal breakfast that is traditionally on Thursday.
Fan Channel. That way they avoid selling the devil in Target or Wally.

I still want that damn car.
I'll say, I've got the Ramen Racer and it ROCKS. The black chrome version should still be available (and I think it actually looks better than the first one they released).

For me it was a value proposition for the vehicle itself. I likely would have gladly paid $150 for ALL of the figures that were part of the max offering but I couldn't justify the remaining cost for "just" the car. I also can't personally justify what is being asked for the Ramen Racer. That's coming from someone who has bought every Marvel HasLab (including 4 Sentinels) and all made to order (including 2 X-Men 97 Sentinels). I also paid $250 for the McFarlane movie Batwing. I guess that I just don't place the same "value" on that vehicle itself. I would have liked to have had it (or even a lesser version of it) for $100ish-$150ish on it's own. Basically if had been made for similar to how McFarlane makes his Batmobiles... probably not as nice as what Hasbro was offering but at a better "value."

Oh for the love of sweet baby Elvis. The mind-numbing Hell Charger round-and-round has re-spawned over here at A/T!!
