General Marvel Legends

There is a definite shift without Ryan there. Ryan was like Bert keeping the course and reacting to Dan's energetic Ernie and Dwight's chaotic Grover throwing a monkey wrench into the proceedings. Now we have Ernie and Grover which is fun, just different. No Bert to reign them in or correct the course when things go awry.

I really wish they'd acknowledge that Starfox is a team builder for the Avengers, actually finishing off the roster from Stern's long run on the book. But, as usual, if it isn't Spidey or X related, it goes unnoticed by them.

This is one of the harder teases they've done - not seeing a lot of definitive guesses anywhere.

Dan very deliberately pointed out that there is a lock on this basket.

There's a symbol on the gold bar that's hard to make out. Someone said it looks like the Latverian crest.

No clue on the basket/bag. For the gold, is there a story where someone pulled a heist on the Latverian gold reserve?

It's really strange what they decide to make accurate to reference and not, and what references they even pick... The white stripe IS accurate to the game's art, it doesn't have the small straps in the art, but it's accurate enough. But they also released MVC "art" War Machine in that two pack, which has the thighs molded in blue, when in the art the legs were entirely gray and, depending on art, with the kneepads and boxes on the side of the calves being blue/silver.

But this is also in a sub-line where most heads are based on comic art, rather than resembling the characters' actual appearances in the game art. Bizarre stuff.

I slept in until 8:20 for once and missed the stream. I might go back and watch it anyway... these were the best reveals (for my personal tastes, at least) in I can't remember how long.

I'm glad to finally have a pre-order date on Mystique and Storm, though of course they picked one of the four days a year I spend at an all-day work training. Hopefully the pre-orders will last until I'm free.

Feral, Rachel, and Deathbird are huge gets, even if they're a little too niche for my small collection. (FWIW, Rachel is literally the first exclusion from my X-Men display.)

I'm in for DD, Widow, and Fury.

I’m just going to heat up the holster, slide it out of the way, take that white paint off with a little acetone, re-heat the holster, and slide it back on again. I know it’s accurate to the game, but I don’t really dig it.
Please, make sure to post the results here :) If it works well I will definitely want to do they myself.

I don't care enough about the character to care which version we got, but I'm surprised how people here also don't want that version. I was expecting some sort of wings like the ones below. I'm ecstatic with what we got though because I agree with Dwight that she looks to be a contender for figure of the year in whichever year she ends up releasing.

This issue alone and her interaction with Hawkeye is why I still need this look.

I hate the feathery aesthetic of Deathbird so I'm very happy with the figure but I'm really annoyed that they didn't use ROM's legs for Gladiator - seriously somebody screwed up there!

Well, about those gold bars ...

The symbol could be Latverian. But I don't know if there's ever been a lot of gold to be mined there. That's country's about the size of a postage stamp. From what I remember, Latveria was mired in extreme poverty until Doom took over. It was Doom's technology that made Latveria wealthy, not gold. (MLGA? Make Latveria Great Again?)

I'm thinking the gold might be Asgardian. They have a lot of gold there. Even some of the apples are made of gold. Their treasury vaults are full of gold.

But, based on what Dwight told me at SDCC, it doesn't appear that we're getting any Asgardians any time soon. So ... I dunno.

Atlantis might be a possibility, too.

Just throwing stuff out there.

I was going to disagree with you and say the flares would look too boxy and robotic, but you know what? I think that would have worked great. Not having those boots sculpted is such a disappointment in 2025 and after two other cracks at the character.

This issue is so much fun. I'm very happy with the Deathbird we're getting, but I'd pick up this look in a second.

Again this is why I think it might belong to a crime boss or one of those types of people who churn out enforcers to fight super people. So it’s someone like The Foreigner, Mr Tolliver, the beyond corporation. Hell it could even be Baron Zemo for all we know.

I can make out "GOLD" written across the top of the single brick. Not sure if that supports or negates any theory, just sharing it.

I *LOVE* that Deathbird.

But I've got to confess a huge pet peeve I have: I really dislike when there's no neutral expression in a figure. And Hasbro usually has that habit with female figures (I'm looking at the most recent Jean Grey). Deathbird's grin is VERY her, but I'd love to have her with a serious/neutral face as well. I feel like every figure should automatically come with a neutral expression and if it gets an extra head, then please go wild! The occasional windy hair also bothers me. I keep thinking how Mockingbird would have been perfect without it.

But I know I'm in the minority. Just venting a bit. I'm obviously all in with the X-characters: Rachel, Feral, Beast, Cal'syee and Gladiator.

Still waiting for the definitive Iceman (ice and human form 2-pack, he dreamt).

Now give us Zaladane!
