G.I. Joe Classified Series

I don't hate Transformers, but they don't do much for me. Mixing them with Joe doesn't really appeal to me.

This is my position as well. I do own a few Transformers, I bought them years apart from each other, and it's my three favorites from the cartoon, so that's really plenty. I am tempted all the time, especially seeing the neat stuff @DarthDre758 gets, but I have gotten really satisfied having a vicarious thing with him there. Classified was too great a pull.

I'm especially interested in characters only found in the energon universe, such as Chameleon and Risk, or versions just specific to that universe like Mercer.

Well yeah, but I get why the one with the vehicle is THE version, but both Wild characters have other versions they can do on card.

Sigh, yeah, while I enjoyed the occasional “chocolate in my peanut butter” of Transformers showing up in the Joe comic, I honestly *don’t* want them to mix, and I certainly am not interested in a larger “World of Hasbro”. Like those awful movies with Channing Tatum, if they get me cool toys I’ll buy them, but the concept of Joes and Transformers (and MASK? and and??) constantly butting up against each other just doesn’t interest me.

I feel like GIJoe + Transformers IS Mask, heh.

I like shared universes, but and I'm okay with a GI Joe+Transformers world, it's just an alternate reality to what I prefer for both, but a universe with GI Joe, Transformers, MASK, Visionaries, and and and, isn't my bag, baby. Like, I'd be into maybe one episode like that, for fun, but not an entire series. BUT.... who knows, it's real popular, maybe it'll blow my kilt up.

I'm not a huge Transformers fan, but I did have some growing up. And watched the show. I did rewatch the first two seasons a few years back. I'm not as attached to the stuff/characters after the 86 movie. Does it excite me the TF and Joes will crossover in a show? Not necessarily, but it is a new Joe cartoon (if it gets made) so I'll check it out. Still surprised Hasbro doesn't try and spin MASK out of the Transformers world. Joes, though? They could use some new media exposure which hopefully doesn't suck.

While I can understand some people wanting pilot/driver figures but not their vehicles, also...c'mon. They're vehicle drivers. Expecting to have minor variant be the version which comes with their vehicle is silly. Especially, when said vehicles are expensive. There's plenty of ways to make variants of the characters at retail. Cartoon colors. Or even just some simple color variations. I personally don't think the drivers should be locked behind Haslabs. Some of the other pack-in figures from Haslabs can be exclusive to them (Pilot Baroness, Glenda, etc), though.

I love how you named the two I wanted the most! Heh. Throw in HISS Gunner and you've got me entirely.

BUT, I totally get the logic of that and feel it's probably the way they're going. Wild Bill and Weasel make sense to release solo with different versions, pilot Baroness and Glenda make sense to keep as exclusive to those haslabs. As much as I don't like it.

Let's also remember which is the biggest brand in this new animated series.

Love it or not Transformers is miles larger than Joe both in sale and, more importantly media presence. The average person, especially younger, is much more likely to know Transformers than GI Joe (or MASK). So I won't be too surprised if this animated series leans into the TFs a bit more than expected.

Of the stuff I have read from the Energon Universe I don't think we'll be disappointed, even with a mix of brands.

On a whim I checked the price of Law and Order at Target today and it came up at $32.90. I picked it up, even though he's in the 12+ POL I just shipped from BBTS.

It's hard to scale Transformers and GI Joe together properly. I collect both, but would never consider mixing them.
