G.I. Joe Classified Series

Well I’m glad the Internet worked to collectively lower my expectations for the SNAKE, because I just popped it open and it is AMAZING. Waaaaaay more range of motion than I was expecting in the upper half. It’s so much fun to mess with and it’s big but light. The Legacy cops are already getting squished and fried and tossed around by this big boi.
 
Desert Scorpion just showed up on my doorstep. I didn’t even know this was an ARAH era character, so I had to do a bit of reading. This is a really cool interpretation of the original figure.

He seems a bit sparse on survival gear, which I believe is part of the “punishment” of being a Desert Scorpion. Of course, I’ll be using him as an individual specialist, rather than a member of a squad. I’m impressed that his grappling gun comes with an actual thread between the hook and the barrel. I’ll be giving that to Alpine, thank you very much. The spear is nice and has a bunch of paint apps that they didn’t need to include. He’ll be using the fist daggers and keeping the mask on rather than showing off the blue-eyed, bearded likeness that I wish could be used elsewhere. I dig the old equipment look of his backpack. The tube connecting his helmet to the pack attaches a little too loosely. It plugs into the helmet male to female, but plugs onto the pack female to male peg that’s a bit too small, so the tube pops off easily.

The mutant scorpion is insane. For now I’ve got him wielding the machine gun because why the fuck not at this point? He’s already dinosaur-sized, he might as well be sentient. It’s got plenty of articulation in those delicate legs, ball/sockets for the tail and claws which can open slightly and close.

So he’s part of the same vintage series as Big Ben, Heavy Duty, Snake Eyes v4. Makes him feel far less out of left field for me. These later years are pretty foreign to me, but I appreciate what we’ve been getting beyond the original collecting window of my youth. This is a simple figure with an animal companion that could easily overshadow him. But I dig them equally.
 
I hemmed and hawed about changing the order for the cops long enough they sold out on Amazon, so I guess I'll just keep the BBTS order. Really truly not in that big a rush, just had the whole get it while its hot FOMO. It's listed as a #1 seller and I don't know how to parse that out.

I thiiiiiink Desert Scorpion is supposed to arrive today. It's either him or Emma Frost. One of them from Fedex. I hope.

One of the rare times I bought a too-big toy item and was actually HAPPIER with it than expected. It has so, so much more articulation than I anticipated. And it's LIGHT, so I don't feel like I'm doing to wipe out a whole bookshelf standing him up on there. I had regerts when it shipped but those are gone.

omg these 9am EST preorders SUCK! can't wait to lose sleep and stress out for no good reason 🔥 🔥

Also these price hikes suck. $45 for figure and pet packs was always kind of steep but $55? :rolleyes: I'm genuinely wondering if 2026 will be the year I'm priced-out from buying everything I want from this line.

Who can even say what the #1 seller means? I did get my Amazon cop in today and like most Classified, he's a pretty great figure. I didn't have as much trouble as most folks seemed to getting the riot helmet on. I think I'll wait until the next weapons pack from Vala comes out and give him an MP5 with the flashlight on it as that's a classic SWAT weapon. The shotgun seems a little like overkill unless I use him as a Kingpin goon or assume he's going into a 'The Raid' style situation.

Really hope we get an EMT sooner rather than later.
 
With the two included heads and the thuggish Big Boa head, I feel like I have a whole movie cast:
-the violent, corrupt cop trying to force the other two into dirty shit
-the naive rookie who used to kneel in the end zone to celebrate back on the high school football team
-the cool Main Character cop who’s either got to convince his hayseed partner to help him fight the nasty cop or else take him out

Main Character cop is totally throwing away his badge at the end.

Action figure cops fall into the same category for me as Raylan Givens, Alex Murphy, and Ed Exley. They're the best kind of cops.

Since Canada has fallen, I only just now got Flint.

He's cool. The head portrait is a lot more bright-eyed than I expected. I don't know if it's just the paint, I only got one. It looks good. It's just very clear-eyed compared to a lot of recent Joes.

Some of my hands have extra flashing, which I trimmed but it also affects the swivel with whatever is happening inside. I don't know what it is with Hasbro and me lately but Han Solo had some crazy flashing and mold issues in the middle of the elbow joint. Now this on all the hands. A couple other Joes have had this.
 
Just got the remainder of my balance email for the 6 cops I ordered at Empire Toy Shop. That's a $200 hit right there.

I'll have 8 total after they and the 2 from Amazon arrive.
