G.I. Joe Classified Series

I feel like we are all going to have more and more stories like that, "I wanted to get that but don't have the money right now".
Absolutely. I know I've been in this mode for a while now, and have had to massively cut back as the bills seem to grow every month. I keep getting more and more selective with the lines I collect, as there are few I can afford to get everything I'd like to own. On the plus side, I've learned to ignore FOMO and have resigned myself to missing out on lots of things due to the shitty state of the world these days.

For sure.
And to be fair this is total first world problems kind of stuff. You could say I can't buy my ninja dolls because of a vet bill. But you could also say it's because in the last couple of months I bought a big snow truck vroom vroom, more than a half-dozen army men, 500 dollars worth of barbarian guys, hundreds of dollars in assorted other action figure guys, several near-100-dollar video games or video game add-ons, and a couple hundred dollars in books I won't read for several months at best.

Thing is, it's all part of the plan. It's when an expense comes up that's not part of the plan where I need to be like 'oh shit, now I can't be stupid with money anymore for a minimum of several weeks.'

I swear the best thing that could happen to her is for me to keel over so she can sell my stuff and pay off her student loans.)
I've joked to my wife several times that, with my life insurance policy, I'm literally worth more to my family dead than alive.

My partner hates this same joke, but the "oh shit" fund I keep for us when house stuff breaks would be more fun in her hands, my life insurance would help pay off the house (we bought at the bottom of the market and will never be able to afford to move because the mortgage is half the rent in our area right now) and I've flagged the stuff that would have value on the secondary market for a friend to sell for her if I ever kick it. Me being gone also lets her best friend ditch her deadbeat husband and the two ladies can ride off into the sunset together. On paper, her life improves immensely if I drop dead. Plus she gets rid of a grumpy ex journalist with a pathological issue with pattern recognition who thinks the world is irreparably broken (and inherits my books for some passive income!). Win win win win win!

HAVE NONE OF YOU WATCHED IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE??
I prefer White Christmas, even though every year it seems to get harder and harder to find it on regular television. Thankfully I have a copy on my computer (and a USB stick) so I can watch the full version (no TV edits) each Christmas......

Oh and yeah a couple years ago I finally passed the mark where my savings/investments passed the value of my life insurance policy. Now both my wife and I are worth more alive than dead. Although we are each other's beneficiaries so we both better keep one eye open..... 😜

I'll bring it back around.

Had like $20 in Target dollars to spend and came upon the latest wave today. Couldn't say no to Monkeywrench. Real well done figure. Although did get him home and immediately got to work to de-tattoo him like I did Ripper, Torch and Road Pig.
