G.I. Joe Classified Series

So I had been replacing O-rings on my vintage Joes, and I came across armored CoCo. His backpack felt like a mystery to me since the original figure, and the Classified version seemed to answer my questions. The Classified backpack is meant to be worn with the wide part on top. It has two sockets, for what I imagine are for exhaust for a jetpack, on the opposite, narrower end.

However, on the vintage figure, there’s an inner contour around the backpack peg, so that when it’s plugged in, the contour lines up with his back contour. That forces the backpack to line up so the narrow end is on top and the wide end is at the bottom. So now I’m confused. I still consider it a jetpack, but I don’t know how it’s supposed to be worn anymore.
 
The original card art had it with the wide part on top, so that's how I always did it. Without a shovel or canteen though, I guess it's hard to say and everyone should put it the way they think looks right.

I’m so bummed I lost the breathing tube for the original. I remember being so diligent about keeping track of it. Don’t know how or when I lost it, but there aren’t even any on eBay being sold to replace it.

I bought Major Bludd on Saturday while I was out. Such a weird purchase for me because I don't care about the character and never had the original figure. In theory, nothing about this figure should really appeal to me and I didn't even care that the figure existed (also never got caught up in the hubub concerning the first release).

However, he just POPS on the pegs. Something about the color scheme, the robotic arm, the intense face sculpt, all combine to make him just look so cool in the box. So far I do not regret it. He was a lot of fun to pose around and he looks amazing. I just don't have a clue what to do with him in my display yet.
 
I had the MASS Device episodes on while doing stuff around the house... man that is a jazzy soundtrack they have. When Snow Job and Scarlett are in the snow, it's 'chill jazz' too. Very clever.

I’ll never forget: outside in the grass near my sister’s gymnastics school. Saw it fall in slow motion into the tall grass. I was devastated.
I fucking love that the Classified version is firmly glued down.

Anyway JVL (the one on the right without the hat) has always had that Space Battleship Yamato on the top of his bookcase in the background. So I figured he was at least a sci-fi fan. However now look what is directly behind his shoulder.......A Haslab Rattler!!? He is (possibly) one of us!? One of Us! One of US! 😜

Anyway just a funny thing I noticed today.
 
The Walmart two pack with BeachHead and Quick Kick was dropped off this afternoon. So happy about that given how frequently Wal Mart cancels pre-orders. The Beachhead doesn't hold a candle to the retro.
 
My set was supposed to deliver today but hasn't even processed. Annoyed at how Walmart doesn't bother to fix the dates, and then they end up as notifications on my phone that something is going to be delivered today

Like you don't want chocolate in your peanut butter or you just hate the basic concept of a toy changing into another toy? Because if it's the latter, I feel sorry for all the joy you're missing out on.
 
The two pack showed up today, on Labor Day, and if I could've checked a box that said "please don't make your drivers work ON LABOR DAY, I can wait til tomorrow..."

Anyway. I actively mocked "Christmas Sweater Beachhead" for weeks so I'm just gonna own it and say it's not as ugly in person and while Cobra Island and Retro are more what I want from Wayne R. Sneeden I had a lot of fun with NF Beachhead right out of the package, nice smooth joints, a sniper rile that feels on brand for Beachhead...

NF Quick Kick is a hoot, because he's like John KWick Kick if you know what I mean. Not f*ck-kickin around anymore. "I'm dropping the act, I won't be the punchline anymore, I never liked being barefoot in the first place, I've seen how you people clean at the Pit, I'm breaking out all the stops, all the swords, all the nunchuks, I'm even bringing a GUN to a karate fight, I am Quick Kick, and I'm thinking I'm back..."
