G.I. Joe Classified Series

I modified v2 Storm Shadow and I like him a lot better now. It's still not where I'd like this figure to be. I'd prefer a different grey for the camo, white lower legs instead of the red, and I think the head needs a rework because it looks a bit small and like he probably can't see very well (why do they have it so tight to the face?).

The only thing I did was cut away the flap bullshit hanging off his belt, pry off the scabbards from his RIGHT side, and repaint his swords (the hilt furniture and blades - I left the handles alone). This mod gives him the 'front tactical pockets' look without the stupid dangly shit, and it also allows his scabbards to be tucked into his rope and worn on his back. I'm not a fan of back scabbards but that's how I have him right now.
I cut off the tab on the scabbards, so they won't ever properly be able to go back on the belt. MAYBE I should have not done that? But it is what it is now.

The big downside is that I had to cut through the rope and kunai detailing on the left side and there's no easy way to make it not look like I just cut those details off. But I also don't think it's super noticeable unless you're looking for it. And there's a weird little spot on the right side where his scabbards were tabbed on. I'm thinking of gluing something else there, like a grenade or something. But I haven't yet.

Anyway, it's definitely not my perfect v2 Storm Shadow, but it's enough to keep me happy and not really -needing- a Retro redo.

I finally got my Rattler set up on my shelf next to my Dragonfly.

And I kind of hate it. Like, it's huge and cool when you're holding it, but displayed it's just a big hunk of blue plastic with maybe a red-helmeted pilot head visible if you squint at it enough. It takes up too much space and doesn't give enough "character" in return.

I really was happy with just the HISS for Cobra and Dragonfly for the Joes. I'll give it a little bit to see if it grows on me before I start looking for someone local who wants one.

I'm absolutely dreading that Ramen tank. What was I thinking?
 
It might just grow on you. Or maybe needs more dressing with Vipers and Troopers working with the pilots on Rattler maintenance.
 
Monkeywrench arrived yesterday from the Walmart order I placed on Friday.

I know I'm a bit biased towards the Dreadnoks, but this guy is definitely in contention for my Classified Series figure of the year.

That figure looks killer. I loved the vintage version as a kid. I just wish he had the silver keg grenades like the original instead of those tiny green pineapple ones.

So generous. That would take care of the "red-helmeted pilot head when I squint" part of the problem.

But I don't think I can even take the plane apart to store (or ship) it again.

Armored CoCo arrived today and honestly... Not as impressed with him in hand as I thought I'd be. I don't know exactly what it is, the dull metallic paint, but the execution was just... underwhelning.
 
I preordered Slice n Dice from Pulse. They were still available and I should have extra money this month, barring no unforseen tragedies. They still aren't coming out for like 2 weeks ish, according to the site anyway. But they looked way too good to pass up.

So with the whelmed reaction to that Shadow, and then the resurgence of Ninja Force with actual effort, could the prior exclusive Storm Shadow get a rework under the proper NF banner?

I fucking wish. That 'Arctic' Storm Shadow is a travesty of a figure and the best version of Shadow deserves a better and more ARAH-accurate figure than that. I hope we get a retro-card Ninja Force SS that's fully accurate to the original figure, but I'm guessing it's not going to happen.
