I got a couple more today; Storm Shadow v2 and SE w/ Timber. The latter was just filling out my POL (Snowfort at ToySnowman, technically) so I could ship all my other stuff. I got SS because he was on for a good sale at the time and I had some plans I wanted to try out.
Storm Shadow is a pretty good figure but, as I've said in the past, so bizarre. The embellishments they added to the original design actively make that original design worse and too busy, while -also- managing to impede the figure from having the best poseability. It's just a weird decision to make the figure worse in every way. He's currently pulled apart on my desk to see what I can do about it.
SE/Timber, well... Timber is the real star of the show here. This would be my third Classified animal buddy after the warthog and the 'gator. They really do bring it when it comes to producing animal figures. Timber is fantastic.
SE is not great. This set is getting older now so I kind of either didn't pay a lot of attention or forgot about any reviews or critiques people made when it came out. But yeah, this isn't a bad figure, but it's really really not a good figure either. The butterflies are basically worthless, the hips have that weird old-Classified feel of wanting to snap into certain positions. He also has weird proportions - like a very stocky torso? I dunno. He's fine, just not -good-. And I removed his knife sheath because it's stupid looking.
Also don't know if I ever commented on Gnaw when he showed up. He's good, if on a dated body. Face seems a lot softer than some of the really crisp sculpts/prints we're getting now, but he's fun and super nostalgic for me. Still hoping someone can tell me if Slaughter hands work with him so I can ditch the glove on the right side.
Terrible picture from a bad angle in bad lighting, and it's only a modest collection because I am being VERY careful not to go overboard here, but the collection is coming along nicely even just focusing on my personal favorites. Can't wait for v4 SE and Armored CC.
