G.I. Joe Classified Series

Not toy-related but I don't remember any commercials looking this well-animated. Has me stoked for IG action, though. And Armor Cobra Commander looks better than ever:


Toy-wise, we need this Destro. Make him look dapper AND muscular preferably. A real get-shit-done Destro.
 
IG Destro is pretty high on my wish-list right now. That was MY Destro growing up and pretty much the only version of the character I give a shit about.

Same. I skipped the silver version knowing I have to have the IG one, or nothing!

Also I'm sure it was just a factory back then, but it's amazing to me that IG Destro had his own little commercial 'jingle' like that. I imagine all the vehicles and such they did a spot for did, which is even more amazing.
 
Yeah, the only Destro I need left from the old days is IG Destro. I had the original but the gold mask one was the one that really survived childhood for me so that's my dude.
 
lmao that little jingle is getting me so fired-up. I never had IG Destro as a kid; silver Destro was easily one of my favorites when I was like seven years old. But you can bet when IG Destro comes out, if he's good, I'll be posing him with his buddies going,

"Destro's back, on the attack, out to conquer the world on his own!"

They've only released a couple IG figures so I guess I'll just have to buy dozens of that little stupid anti-gravity things to fight Joe and Cobra!
 
I'll never forget when I saw this issue and it was so striking to me that I didn't even think it was Destro at first.

IG Destro was my Destro too.
He had a cape! And thigh-high leather boots!! And a saber!!! And a . . . flying . . . chair . . . thing!! Hell yes.


Also: Combat Armor CoCo arrived and he is a straight-up, best-of-line banger. It’s always exciting to get a top-to-bottom new sculpt and this does not disappoint. Also: there are effects ports in the base of the backpack!! After nearly 40 years, confirmed: IT’S A FUCKING JETPACK!!!!
 
Today I learned that the Walmart display kiosk is actually a real thing and not something the internet made up. I found one while going to my mother in law's 3 hours away! There was some good stuff to be seen there. I found FF movie Silver Surfer for the first time in the wild, they had reissues of JJJ, Rhino, and Sandman, Stinger, NF Quick Kick and Beachhead, Crystal Ball......but the one thing I walked away with was Law and Order.

I haven't opened him yet. He looks great. I fully expect my typical broken-record Classifieds praise will apply to him. Just two gripes that aren't really figure related:
Are they going AI for the art now? I miss the human art.
This set is $10 overpriced. I kept the receipt. There's no way I will see this on clearance at Walmart, but maybe if Target gets him and he eventually goes the way that Mutt did, I'll see about making some adjustments. If this was $35 the price would be exactly where it needs to be.
 
Man, I have to travel to Southern CA on Monday and am hoping to hit a few Wal Marts along the way tobtry and find one of these magical displays. I will absolutely buy the Night Force 2-pack and a Crystal Ball and a Rhino... fingers crossed
 
My display is barren on one side now. All the MCU stuff is gone and of course all the Crystal Balls. No more Rhinos or Sandman's either. Pretty much just a couple of Spirit Spiders and a few pegs of firemen left.
 
I hadn't heard them using AI art either, but I do have a friend who freelances for Hasbro and they've been VERY aggressive internally about not using AI on their products and marketing but have also gotten pantsed a few times by freelancers sneaking stuff in the editorial staff didn't vet well enough. Granted the artists who pantsed them also lost their biggest client by getting quietly blacklisted, but it's still gross and embarrassing for everyone. I hope the Joes line doesn't step in it. At least according to my friend, they've actively got no AI in their contracts, in no small part because they ate crow previously.
