G.I. Joe Classified Series

Fireman arriving from Amazon tomorrow. I watched the YoJoeJerk review, terrible camera focus and lighting aside, his reviews are decent. He noted that Fireman's entire body is just Snow Job, which I hadn't realized, and it took away a little excitement. Still stoked! No clue where he's going in the display, though.

Curious to hear what folks think of the firefighter in person. I've gone back and forth on buying one, but hearing it's just the Snowjob buck lowers my enthusiasm a bit. It works on him but it is kind of a bulky build that doesn't have as much ROM as most of the Joes do. (I really like Snowjob but it's such a specific style.)

Talking about grouping and organizing earlier... I realized what I did was... I have two shelves the form an L, so the one directly above my monitors I have my favorite characters arranged kinda how they look good together, by colors. The shelf perpendicular (over the right side of my desk) has all my other Joes and they're actually arranged by release year. So Grunt, Gung-Ho, Torpedo, Roadblock, Duke, Mutt, and so on are over there. I am tempted to do that for both shelves. I'm sure it says something about me but having them arranged that way is really pleasing.

I feel like a chronological display would be something I'd really enjoy looking at, but would not enjoy as my actual main display.

So.... Second display, go!
Don't encourage me!

If this was the only line I collected and I hadn't taken a huge break from it (meaning, if I had a fairly complete collection), I would probably pose all my regular release figures together and then do the retro cardback figures in chronological order just for fun. But I don't have enough figures for that.

Aside from the vehicles, which occupy a very specific and very precarious spot in my studio, I actually mess with the Joes too much to have a real display. Marvel, I stick my favorite version of the characters in a long line above my desk. I'm constantly swapping weapons and posts on the Joes so much they really do wander my office. Right now Chuckles is having a beer with Nick Fury to my right and Snake Eyes and Mutt are having a doggy play date to my right with Junkyard and Timber. That'll last til tomorrow when I'm on a Zoom meeting and start mucking with them again.

I couldn't do a straight chronological release - I need factions to be together. Nightforce with Nightforce, Marauders with Marauders, Tiger Force with Tiger Force. Straight chronological release would make me crazy.

It can work though because it seems like all of Tiger Force were the same year, and Night Force had some in 88 some in 89, so just group them together at the end of one year and the beginning of the next.

All the boxes are lined up in numerical order for my display. Although some are not a great fit on the shelves obviously. Then after that I have the Retro cards just boxed away right now due to space and not being sure how I want to display them. I figure I will go the route of hanging them on the wall like I have seen others do online.

Figures and vehicles are displayed how I see fit. Mostly Joe/Cobra separation, but not really tightly grouped outside of the Dreadnoks and army builders.

I only collected Night Force and don’t display them with the main collection.

And by chronological, I mean based on their ARAH releases in the ‘80s, not the Classified numerical order.
