G.I. Joe Classified Series

Hasbro should just put up preorders for the police figure and that's it. There's never going to be a good time for it politically. And it doesn't need to be addressed. Commenting on the topic seems like a bad PR move. Why draw extra, possibly negative, attention to it? Why risk pissing off some portion of the population? Just release the figure. Collectors of the line already know it's coming. Just release it and move on.
 
The funny thing is this might be a case where Classified's ridiculously good attention to detail worked against them. They did too good a job with the cop figures - they look like they could walk out of a news clip. If they were releasing a Lego style cute lil cop with a hat and billy club they could just shrug and be like "hey, it's a toy!" I imagine the riot shield and taser escalate their worries a bit.

(Not saying they shouldn't just drop the figures, since I assume the damned thing is already being boxed up somewhere in China for shipping this year, but having worked for PR folks who just look for the piles of poop their clients could step into, I get their hesitation.)

I love the Crimson Baroness. The colors really pop on her. My only complaint is, at least on mine, her hair doesn't like to stay in place and tends to pop off at awkward moments.
 
I got a shipping notice this morning from Hasbro and I practically jumped up and down thinking it was the Rattler. I settled down and opened it and it was for....Footloose.

I'm so salty. If they don't ship my Rattler soon they may have to pry my foot loose from their asses.
 
I feel like I'm usually the last one to get things when they ship (I have a magical ability to order from whoever will stock and ship last, been that way since the Dorkside days, if you wanted your stuff first, ask me where I ordered from and don't pick them), but I now feel kinda guilty I got the Rattler so soon. I just assumed everyone else had theirs already.

That's definitely it. This isn't a cute, friendly beat cop playset from LEGO or Playmobil. It's a very detailed fucking riot cop with riot shield and taser. Hasbro would be insane to just drop it right now. I also don't think it would be wise to 'say nothing,' just to avoid people taking that figure release as some kind of endorsement of current events.

In any event, we have no control over it. Clearly Hasbro wanted to take a step back from that one. I don't think it's going to delay the actual release of the figure anyway. If Hasbro needs some extra time to figure out how they want to play this one - whatever.

Playmobil! That's the exact aesthetic I was trying to think of when I was imagining a benign cop toy they could release right now. Something that is half South Park "Canadian" and half Norman Rockwell painting. The reason we want these cop figures so much is because they knocked it out of the park making super-detailed little plastic rights violators.

Is the firefighter out yet? If I were working PR side I'd push to just release them at the same time. "First responders" vibes instead.
 
Where did the cop preorders go up? I can't find them anywhere...

I remember a couple years back there was a hot minute where people wanted to cancel Chase. Chase is the police dog from Paw Patrol.

There's nothing Hasbro can say that will change anyone's thoughts going in. Put me in the camp that says they should just release the figure with no comment.

I have a friend who did, in fact, buy his kid all the Chase toys but referred to Chase as a fascist narc every time he paid for one.
