G.I. Joe Classified Series

They need to just tear off the bandaid and put the police officer up for pre-order. These ICE shenanigans aren't going to stop and we want our toys. Just stealth drop it and don't make a big deal.
That pretty much seems like the best play now.

And quite frankly ICE seems to revel in parading around without uniforms, or military fatigues, with no identification. So a "standard" police officer is probably far enough removed from them that they could just release it and move on (hopefully).

Speaking from LA, the cops are [almost, from a certain point of view, with the firm understanding that ACAB] the “good” guys when compared to these fucking ICE thugs, who absolutely have no uniforms, nor badges, nor proper warrants.

They should definitely just drop the preorder for the cop and be done with it. I doubt the actual production nor delivery of the figure is actually being delayed, so just do it. Then again, maybe they want to just have them come in-stock? Less lead time for people to talk about it? Hard to say.

Anyway, I need those cops. Frank Castle is locked and loaded and ready to go do some hunting.

I guess if the cops can go a while without shooting reporters and protestors with rubber bullets, maybe Hasbro will have a narrow window to release the figure.
You got it.

Honestly, I think Hasbro is making the smart play here. They are plugged in enough to know this is NOT the climate for cop toys. And they also know that the 24 hour news cycle means that even as horrific as the ICE raids and police brutality have been; it likely won't be longer than a few more weeks, or a month or two at most, before we've all 'forgotten' to talk about some fresh new hell from the Trump Administration.
They know if they just hang back, they can actually drop this pre-order to very little push-back, compared to dropping it when it has a reasonable chance of causing some vocal distaste.

I shouldn't laugh at this, but this is really true. If they're waiting for a month without police brutality in the news, they should probably just have the figures locked and loaded (ba dum ching) for a stealth drop some random Monday at 1 p.m. EST. when nobody's looking. They WILL sell them, and they will sell well (I swear half of us will buy them to be the actual bad guys in our displays) but Hasbro ain't that dumb, they're going to be very careful about it.

Hell, just add them to Pulse when the SDCC exclusives go online and don't say anything, they'll sell just fine and hopefully survive the distraction of people fighting over scantily clad Marvel characters and Rock Star Dreadnoks.

Just a quick shot. The figures from the Rattler Haslab are super cool.

Yeah, I thought I wouldnt care about the figure pack ins from the Rattler, but man did they make them nice. I'm going to want to track down a Wild Weasel for sure. That Baroness looks phenomenal but isn't as big a need simply because I have a few of her. Wild Weasel though is too nice.

Speaking of SDCC - they may even be waiting for that for the show just for the dual-purpose of being able to bury this in a heap of way more exciting news -and- having a chance to kind of talk about the release in person and get ahead of any issues. I'm sure people with a lot more PR skill than any of us are furiously at working writing up what the appropriate company response should be if any questions this release.

Also bear in mind that there have been layoffs at Hasbro recently, so that may be delaying things on the cop preorder and Rattler shipping as well.

That Baroness is a thing of beauty. I almost keep wanting to pull the trigger on the crimson set somewhere, but I've been hesitating. If this Baroness gets single release somehow, I would absolutely pick her up instead.

I feel like I need to see her come down to at least the $100 mark before I think about buying one. So far I have no regrets about not owning a Rattler and I'm not too fussed about Wild Weasel either.

The one from the crimson set is my favorite so far. I just love the red look and that headsculpt is great (the neutral one. The one with the lip biting... didn't really come out great to me)
