I always assumed, trusting Hama to be true heh, but also recently learned his working name was "Ghost Shadow," and his last name would have then been "Yureikage."

Well if we're getting into the names, "Ru" for the record is short for Ruadh (Roo-ah), which was the only Irish word my mom knew when I was born. And to bring it back to GI Joe, "Sean Ruadh" was definitely the name on the file card when I did a Steel Brigade figure in the 80s.

I can't even remember what I named mine. Wish I still had it, and the filecard.
 
Yeah, I was lamenting the file card last night after I posted that. I googled to see what it even looked like, then remembered the process of choosing attributes and such. It was simply and maybe dumb but I was pretty damned excited.

Me too! I loved the idea of "creating" a character. Hasbro knew what they were doing...and still do, considering my lifetime spendings on their products.

Not surprised in the least. Especially with a religious led school. However terrible actions are isolated to them. Back in high school (88-93, hey we had OAC [grade 13 in Ontario until after I graduated]) teachers did shit that would get them either suspended, fired, or arrested today. I remember my art teacher got sick of one student and pushed them into a closet and locked the door. Our phys-ed teacher got a bunch of students to grab one kid who would never stop talking and then put duct tape over his mouth to "teach him a lesson about talking too much."

Lots of stupid shit back then went on, not to mention at the governmental level. The last residential school in Canada only closed in the 1990s. There are people who are younger than me (51) who were subjected to that system.
 
In the 80s, my best buddy in school was both left-handed and also severely ADHD. I got to watch the education system totally fail him while ā€œcorrectingā€ him over the course of ten years or so. Finally his mom just started ā€œhiringā€ me to spend the weekends before exams at his house: sheā€™d cook INSANE junk food and Iā€™d help the poor guy not completely flunk out of school. He was absolutely one of the smartest and most gifted people I have ever met: he could disassemble and reassemble a car engine or a computer before he was 12.
 
Ah man, I have an uncle like that. Severely dislexic but could take apart and reassemble practically any machine.

Hey, it's me!

I can't tell you how many times I was told I'd be graduating college when everyone else was graduating 11th grade if I 'just applied myself.' As if there's a magic button to just make my brain do boring, stupid shit. I'm 100% not ever going to sit and do 2 hours of homework to prove I know the material you already taught me in class that I definitely know and prove that I know by getting straight As on every exam ever in the class. Get fucked.
 
I've got a BIZARRELY quiet Saturday tomorrow and I kinda want to do some crazy Joes mashup photos. Do I have the Dragonfly square off with Galactus? The HISS tank get attacked by a Mythic Legions troll? What I really need to do is commit to a NECA predator and have him stalk Beachhead, or some 1/12 scale raptors to hunt and be hunted by Recondo.
