G.I. Joe Classified Series

I've sworn off doing this to myself too often after not canceling two Joes I was super anxious to get in time to avoid having two sets (hello, Law Law and Order Order... maybe I should use the second Order as s generic dog?)
I imagine you could unload the Law relatively easily, or maybe switch his head with the green shirt or someone. then dress that second dog differently (doesn't he have accessories too?) and come up with another pun name set.

Got to open Flint, here are my thoughts:

He doesn’t look as young as what I’ve seen from pics, but he does look a little too gentle in expression, there’s a softness, almost cartoony. I feel like he should be a little more gruff, a little more square-jawed. Less smug, more stern. His neck looks a bit skinny. The webgear rides up when posing and that can be annoying. Arms a bit thin, torso not broad enough. They’re working with molds they’ve got though. Sidearm holster has a weird thickness to it? Can’t see a reason for it. Glad he comes with a lot of extra hands, including a wider grip for his shotgun pump. All in all, still a stupendous figure. His original was one that really held up and was passable as a classic Flint. One of the first figures in the line to feel that way. But this is unquestionably the classic Flint.

I've thought this from the promo pics and it's reassuring to hear. I'll likely pick him up but I've always been a fan of the first Flint figure's head sculpt. Always felt underrated for not matching the cartoon.

They say it's not AI art...but at this point maybe they should just do AI art. Can't look much worse than this. Put Will Smith eating spaghetti on the box.

I was thinking I'd do a head swap and make them MP partners. I'll have a spare green shirt head I can use in a few months. And really two german shepherds just look cool together, esp if I put the barking /growling head on the second one. If not I'm sure I can offload it.

I ended up buying V4 SE early from Amazon but kept my original Pulse order because this was my brother's favorite version of him, will never buy himself action figures, and I wanted and extra to just THROW at him next time I see him. "Here, I bought you a piece of your childhood, love you bro"

This is not a straight swap. Old has the hinge neck and bigger ball peg. New head is resting on top of neck. Old head is resting on new smaller peg. The swap would need a full transplant at the bottom of the neck.

Damn, you need no help from me!

They do look pretty good on the other bodies. Although looking at an in-hand pic of him, I definitely see more Rock Hudson than recent victim of karma.

Look at the build differences of the body too. I think that may be contributing to why I think the new one’s proportions are thin.. he’s tall and slim! I prefer the comparably stocky build of the first Classified Flint. The head swap seems to alleviate my concerns, with the smaller old head on the taller body and the larger new head on the old body. Maybe I’ll consider making this a permanent swap.

This really brings to light how much Lady Jaye is in need of a better head.

I kinda like wiry Flint, though 100% agree with the comment above that he was one of the first Classified figures who really felt like he belonged in either era with his updated look. I've been VERY happy with the first version for a few years now, just psyched for the variety (and one that's more accurate to the old toy).
