Not that I NEED more figures to arrive this week, but Amazon shipped Sci-Fi and Wetsuit through UPS and of course I immediately got a notification pushing the delivery date back. UPS isn't DHL, but it's close in terms of slow shipping to my area.
No shipping notice. No tracking. But I did get the pickup notice to go to Purolator. And from there I can see the tracking activity and they claim they tried to get me Monday and Tuesday and today before giving up and putting it at this Depot.
I got nothing, which is unusual for EB. Usually they bombard me with texts.
I have some mixed feelings on Mainframe: His heads are great, his shirt looks sharp, his webgear is impressive (how many Classified figures have open webgear that goes from shoulder to just above the knee?), his accessories are unique. I think the grey tones with pops of red with silver accents looks nice. Some of the detail on his screens looks good, a usual for the line but still worth noting. His laptop stays tabbed into his pack decently for an under-hanging attachment.
But he's fiddly. His backpack doesn't have allowances for his vest and the peg is short so it falls out. The tablet that fits on his backpack doesn't stay well on the pack it fits pretty well if you have the cord at the right angle and jam it in there. But it falls out his hand pretty easily. A couple small sculpting changes would have made this guy a lot more fun to handle. Lastly, his knees have sticky paint. I guess at this point I should just know to have a bottle of AK matte sealant ready for when I open Joes with painted knees.
Back around to the compliment sandwich, Mainframe manages to be packed with details while still posing fantastically, something Classified doesn't always accomplish. Bonus points for something they should always get right - his handedness matches his sidearm draws.
PS: love those little power cords/wires on his belt.
PPS: Did you think I wouldn't bring up his height? His pants look really good and the height doesn't bother me. Having said that, I do swap legs often and am considering trying Alpha Commando Snake Eyes, Stinger Driver and Scrap Iron's legs, just because I prefer boots with tucked-in pants.

I love the detail they gave him. Like I want a little chart of what each of his do-dads actually do because I know they're all based on real-world kit. And yeah, the little power cords on his belt is the sort of thing that makes Classified shine, truly.
Just got Sci-Fi and Wetsuit from Amazon but won't have time to open them for a few hours and I am IMPATIENT
You and I have talked enough that you know I've been possibly the least patient about any figure ever as Sci-Fi. Gonna be like a dog trying to get peanut butter out of a Kong opening that package later.
Seriously, this is the first time I've had a Classified figure and want to ping Lenny somehow and be like: I truly believe everything on here is real, but WHAT DOES IT ALL DO. Is anyone from their team on socials who might answer those questions? Mainframe is kitted out with hacking gear like Budo is kitted out with samurai stuff.
Just opened Sci-Fi and Wetsuit. this is crazy but: they're so much exactly what I wanted I have nothing more to say? Like Mainframe SURPRISED me, but both of these guys are just *chef's kiss* no notes. Though I do want a second Sci-Fi because I love his head sculpt and want to have one masked and one unmasked out on display. Wetsuit's knees are shockingly stiff so he's gonna need some hot water, and his helmet's a little big, but they both do what I always wanted from the figure as a kid (removable helmets!) have exactly the right amount of gear, and look appropriately ridiculous. I'm also loving the absolutely microscopic text on these guys - the gauge on SF's gun and all the text on Mainframe are such great little details.
Okay, one wish - Sci-Fi should have had a sidearm. At some point that laser rifle is gonna run out of juice and he'll need to shoot a MFer. He feels a little unarmed.
Something just didn't hit my nostalgia correctly with them when I unboxed it and I realized... These aren't the bats I have nostalgia for.
Mine was the version 2 from 91. And then I wondered where this red visor came from, and yojoe.com told me it's the 2008 version and the original Classified is actually the accurate retro one. I don't even want any lip about how 2008 is retro now.
So maybe I'm just trying to save 80 Canadian bucks, but I have now convinced myself these are not
my Bats and I don't want them.

OK but to defend the retro release, it absolutely *is* retro: while we got our first *figure* of this look in 2008, the actual colorscheme is from the Sunbow cartoon, premiering in Arise, Serpentor, Arise! It’s essentially just as “retro” as the original figure colorscheme.
I'll do a lot of degrading things for any number of reasons so that isn't saying much.
But yeah, MY BAT is v2. So far nothing has been able to convince me to get a v1 BAT. Not even Doc's incredible bios. Just isn't MY version at all. I need that v2.
