G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Figure Poll - #289 - Headhunter Stormtrooper/Keel-Haul (RAH)

He may have been a bad dude in real life, but hot damn da maniac was a great character. I'd get him to start my Sunnyverse if nothing else.

I think by definitions heroes can't be trash, and if your heroes are trash they shouldn't be your heroes anymore.

To be real clear about Piper: He's been implicated in some other gross stuff like the ring boys scandal. The allegations made by Luna's son were only ever made by him. Luna doesn't seem to have told anyone else (not anyone that has stepped forward, at least). I'm not suggesting anyone should go around calling Piper a rapist or anything like that.
But the implication, and the fact that I find it so easy to believe, makes me just uncomfortable enough that I wouldn't want an action figure of him. I genuinely mean it when I say no shade on anyone that doesn't feel the same.

Sarawak Sally might be a fun pick up with a little Classified magic applied. Seemingly another indie player between Cobra, the Joes and the October Guard. With the recent release of Sundown, the possibility of her showing up looks more possible.

Roddy Piper… I didn’t know this Joe figure existed. This concept leans too into the ring persona of Piper, but not the fact that Roddy Piper was a playing a character. It just doesn’t work. Pass.

Oh so very much this.

And also: that’s why we shouldn’t put humans on pedestals as heroes, at all. Because humans ARE trash, and when we elevate a human to “hero” status, we are either ignoring said “trash” or else saying that what we think makes them a “hero” outweighs the “trash”.

Nah.

We can just stick with “this human is flawed, and no ‘hero’, because ‘heroes’ are fictional”, and we don’t need to make an action figure of said human.

Nothing I inherently need in the Classified line. However, she might be a nice stand in for Gloria Grant. Biker characters could loan themselves nicely to being street toughs for other lines. so while I don’t necessarily need them, I might consider them, depending on final product, on sale or clearance.

Day 288b - Coils O'Doom - (M.A.R.S.) (6/27/26)

Wrapping up the week with the bad guys' second Irish agent. Unlike Crimson Asp, Coils is a MARS man despite the snakey name. Someone needs to let Hasbro know there are other cities beyond 'the Pale'.

This guy’s name makes him sound like Dave Filoni created him for Clone Wars.

And like that’s just Cesspool with some weird Just For Men thing going on.

Still, I’d love more Irish characters. Just maybe not such a stereotypical one. This guy’s name and outfit and red hair and such are . . . maybe even a little offensive?

What we REALLY need is an anti-imperialist Irish revolutionary ON THE JOE TEAM.

Haw, brilliant!

And brillianter! When Cesspool came up in the Legends thread, I almost mentioned Coils but... wanted to save it for today.

Yeah, it's a bit much. On one hand, his colors and such, I imagine he made a matching companion for Crimson Asp, but... yeah, I feel like red heads have plenty of rep in the Joe line already. I like how the art has him gesturing to the snake like "Feast yer eyes on t'is, Saint Paddy! I went'n'found wan!"

Agreed. I do appreciate they didn't go the Clancy route and didn't make either Irish villain from Northern Ireland. But yeah, we have a wonderful Mexican character in the unit, now I'd love a Northern Irish one to join him. Have a Black Irish!
