Eh, pass. Doesn’t interest me.
I will always make an exception for Terry Crews.Like the one that looks like Terry Crews?
No, seemed like he was really elevated in prominence for a while there to me as well. Was it just me, or was there a weird period in Joe time where it seemed they where using Heavy Duty in a bunch of media when it seemed they really wanted to use Roadblock, but they didn't just cuz?
This is absolutely true! They did do this, and they did it on purpose because the “Roadblock” name was in some kind of trademark/copyright hell for several years, at the time when characters started having to be called “Sgt Stalker”, “General Tomahawk/Clayton ‘HAWK’ Abernathy” and such (some of that still lasts today, even). Roadblock was *gone* from the franchise for a while, obviously replaced by Heavy Duty in the first wave of JoeVCobra two-packs in 2001 and renamed “Double-Blast” in the reprint/rerelease ARAH sets of the time. He made something of a dramatic return later in the JvC/Spy Troops/ValorvVenom era and his new sculpt figure was promptly repainted several times, but even then he was used sparingly, obviously replaced with Heavy Duty (who was “Heavy Duty” in name only, other than a big gun) in Rise of Cobra. He really only came back fully into the franchise *as himself* when ol’ Dwayne Johnson decided to play him in Retaliation. He’s mostly been “back” since, and now seems to be back in his place as #1 machine gunner/“big guy” of the team. Was it just me, or was there a weird period in Joe time where it seemed they where using Heavy Duty in a bunch of media when it seemed they really wanted to use Roadblock, but they didn't just cuz?
Not sure about shelling out for Turtle-Viper there.
