G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Figure Poll - #181 - Cobra Shock Trooper (Pursuit of Cobra)

I appreciate they didn't just give Lift-Ticket a new codename like they did with that "movie" version of Rock N Roll. Bench press I think?

Would I get “Not-Lift-Ticket”? Probably, particularly if he came with a Skyhawk, or similar. “Not-Lift-Ticket” isn’t a priority for me, but I’m not against getting “Not-Lift-Ticket”. Would still prefer to get a genuine Lift Ticket and Clutch though. How about getting rereleases of those two first Hasbro? Then you can make “Not-Lift-Ticket”, with another vehicle to make him equally impossible to get.

Which idiot at Hasbro was like 'we should name this pilot the same thing as one of our vehicles?' Like... English language just ran out of words?
Also no on the not-Lift Ticket figure.

Sometimes they have used names for both character and vehicles, like the Viper hang glider that came before the troopers, or the various Chameleons in the comics after Zartan's ride, or Destro's DFMON driver, Ferret, but my favorite is the Cobra trooper early in the comic named Rattler. He was paired with Copperhead before the Water Moccasin driver was created (who also never appeared in Marvel's run).

Also assuming Tomahawk is a white guy, I am reminded for the second time this week of a Native writer I know who said that America names its missiles Tomahawks because prefer their genocide branded. (To be fair I think this character was named in innocence like "tomahawk is a cool word" but y'know, if you have a chance to reboot some shit, you might as well.

Not arguing that AT ALL, but kinda an aside... There was a general in the fifties who set the trend of naming helicopters after tribes because he wanted to honor their bravery and tactical prowess.

Wasn't a knock, I like his Ubisoft Clancy design sense in doses, but would prefer Hasbro paints and plastic. I just never liked the way the AF stuff feels or moves.
This! I actually think they look good but the... hand feel? Of Vala (and BBWS's soldiers, too) isn't as pleasant to pose or handle as Hasbro's. (I swear it comes from related vs. unregulated for general toy aisle sale stuff.)

Yeah, I will allow that it could be deeper but I always thought it was just the military bro cool factor of a precise silent devastating weapon being honored by something that can do that on a disgustingly higher scale.
