G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Figure Poll - #128 - Professor Appel (Marvel)

I missed a bunch, but that's okay because they all suck.

Red Ninja is just lame. Strays too far from traditional 'ninja' look to read as a regular ol' ninja, but doesn't go far enough into the sci-fi (like OG Night Creepers, for instance) to be something else. So it looks more like someone doing ninja cosplay and picked out whatever they had in red at the fitness store.

The MARS trooper just looks like the standard Classified Cobra Trooper, which I already don't like very much.

I wouldn't hate Scarlett if she had actual boots. But whateverthefuck that design is makes it look like she's wearing camo capris and compression socks. Dumb as fuck, but easy to fix for a figure if they wanted to.

Snake Eyes is fine, but very much just 'fine.' This isn't remotely the version of Snake Eyes I want, and it just feels like a lesser version of variations that already exist.

Day 128a - Professor Appel - (Marvel) (1/18/26)

New week, new theme: Comics. Professor Appel was the mastermind behind Cobra Island, but as far as figures go he is pretty much just a Crimson Guard, though his uniform may be a little snug. I moved the comics theme up to this week, then decided to have Appel for today after Doc's one-two-punch in the filecard thread of Ripcord and Candy/Bongo, who was Appel's daughter.

I'm really starting to think a two pack with a CG body, Army general body and about half a dozen heads and hands could take care of 45% of these minor side characters.

I fucking NEED Professor Appel after writing up those cards, and I'm already plotting how to make a custom Candy Appel. It's infuriating the Crimson Guard figure doesn't have a very easily swappable neck because pop a Reed Richards head on that buck and you've gotg a mediocre but functional Appel.

You're probably right. More likely though is doing a set with a male and female CGs with a few heads between them, like the Blue Ninja set.

Sounds like a “The Jugglers” deluxe set, and I would absolutely buy that in multiples.
I was thinking the same. In fact, if you put the right hat and mustache on Appel, he could be one of the Jugglers if I'm picturing him right.

I know! BUt swapping out the neck as well isn't the worst thing. If they ever indicate they're going all in on comic characters, I'll shit so hard it'll ruin your pants.

I'd lose my mind if they started doing deep dives into comics. Kwinn, the Appels, Billy, Hard/Soft/Blind Masters, Wade, I'd dine well on those figures. Though I think A bunch of them are doable as customs. Kwinn is probably the most impossible to make on our own.

A pudgy Crimdon Guard, hm? Not very ‘elite’ if he’s out of shape. Would I get him? Yes. As much for the character as for the different buck. Appel could be step towards a cartoon General Flagg.
