Day 126 - MARS Trooper - (EA Concept Art) (1/16/26)

For the penultimate day of EA Concept Art we have the MARS Troopers!

Huh. I like them as alternate Cobra troops but don't look different enough to be MARS troopers. Like, I actually think the design is good if they called it something else.

Same. They look like standard Cobra. I like the variations. I don't know if in the context of the game how it works, I want to say there were versions out there where MARS was the public facing company, and Cobra was the secret behind the scenes organization.

This looks like Cobra rank and file. I don’t mind the overall designs, but I agree that the guys should have more of a sense of identity as belonging to MARS. Whether it’s the color scheme, of the design or both, MARS goons should be more clearly identified as being affiliated with MARS. As mentioned above, these designs would be good for a variant Cobra trooper. MARS needs to be different.
Oh, and MARS needs women.

I like 'em, clean if a little uninspired, not bad for basic Cobra Troopers. I refuse to believe Destro would field something so mundane- where's the patent leather?

What happened is these troopers are the last time Scrap Iron was allowed to take a stab at uniforms.

I can't separate Destro's troops from black and gold in my head. The thing I liked was that they weren't Cobra.

I take these as pre-IG, but the game was apparently to be tied to the movie or maybe inspired by? I can't remember the movie super well but i feel like MARS troopers were the initial villain army, with Vipers coming later? So this y be the game's version of the proto-Cobrs troopers.

Looking at these designs, it occurs to me that the left design could be a good Cobra recruit design. The right might make a nice version of Cobra M.P.s. Somebody in that big group of nasty people gas to keep the ruffians in line.

It's a little bland but I don't mind it. I'm kind a in for most Scarlett redesigns.Could use just a splash of yellow as a throwback though.
