I get your point, and yeah my bias toward 90s guys is showing. But also, they put TJ'bang with Scarlett so I thought Dojo may get the same treatment. What would be crazy, in a cool way, is if they paired Dojo with another female character. They could do deep cuts like Ophelia or Junko Akita and a lot of fans would likely assume it's an all new character. Why not? What's functionally so different about Dojo compared to any number of other single-carded Classified figures?
But, to your prior point, I don't think anyone would suggest Scarlett can't sell on her own.they put TJ'bang with Scarlett
I would fucking hate this so much. They could do deep cuts like Ophelia or Junko Akita and a lot of fans would likely assume it's an all new character.
Right, which is where my bias comes in. You force them to buy the not as popular figure by making a set with the more popular one, like Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, or any other that starts with "S".But, to your prior point, I don't think anyone would suggest Scarlett can't sell on her own.
I get that, and even though I am not into that entire era of plot, Classified could make some of those designs really cool.I would fucking hate this so much.
I would say that NF is the least-liked version of Scarlett ever in Joe history. So definitely not a shoe-in for great sales numbers like a Storm Shadow or a Snake Eyes. But she'd still do fine on her own. At the same time, I'd also say that -any- character with an ARAH pedigree stands above anyone without. So Dojo is basically guaranteed to sell better than Sundown or that dumb-as-fuck mechanical arm guy they just revealed. And yet.. those are single-carded.Right, which is where my bias comes in. To clarify my end of it; as I've said before, I just don't have the space or the money to collect -everything- in Classified. As cool as some stuff is, I've decided to mostly keep it specifically to figures I had as a kid, or things I really wanted as a kid. So I don't want a figure I owned and want a Classified version of to be slotted in with not only something I don't care about at all, but something that's probably so unpopular that it could be really hard to get rid of.I get that, and even though I am not into that entire era of plot, Classified could make some of those designs really cool.
Probably, yeah. But they did make the least liked Scarlett really cool at least.I would say that NF is the least-liked version of Scarlett ever in Joe history. So definitely not a shoe-in for great sales numbers like a Storm Shadow or a Snake Eyes. But she'd still do fine on her own.
I see the logic but I don't know if it's accurate. But again, that's my perspective as someone who wasn't into the new Ninja Force Joes at all and was on the verge of jumping ship when they showed up.At the same time, I'd also say that -any- character with an ARAH pedigree stands above anyone without. So Dojo is basically guaranteed to sell better than Sundown or that dumb-as-fuck mechanical arm guy they just revealed. And yet.. those are single-carded.
Agreed.All that is to say, I don't think there's a recipe for what's a two-pack and what isn't.
I believe you are correct, and Night Force too I think. Which is amazing because Ninja Force is the one Force that wasn't repaints and had mostly new characters. They definitely seem to be of the opinion that Ninja Force can't survive regular retail for some reason, though. To be fair, they also did that to Tigerforce. I think all those figures were some type of exclusive, weren't they?
I do get that reasoning, all around. I suggested it mostly because Ninja Force could use some 'new' females. Scarlett is great and Jinx will probably be as well, but I wouldn't want a Vypra repaint or Ninja Baroness. To clarify my end of it; as I've said before, I just don't have the space or the money to collect -everything- in Classified. But also, I just think it would be shitty on Hasbro's part to put ARAH remakes in two-packs with literally anything that isn't an ARAH remake. For obvious reasons.
I'm not at all opposed to new female (or male) Ninja Force characters. I just think they should go the Zartan route and not force ARAH collectors to buy the new character/design if they don't want to just to get an actual ARAH figure.I do get that reasoning, all around. I suggested it mostly because Ninja Force could use some 'new' females. Scarlett is great and Jinx will probably be as well, but I wouldn't want a Vypra repaint or Ninja Baroness.
That would be cool. I'm also genuinely interested in seeing Classified tackle the Extreme designs. Also, how about in 2028, Hasbro starts on the unreleased Commandos?!
Same. I don't anticipate wanting many of them, but I'm ready for them to change my mind. I own so many Classified figures that wouldn't have been on my wishlist that I basically look at every pre-order hoping to be swayed. That would be cool. I'm also genuinely interested in seeing Classified tackle the Extreme designs.
