G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

The news of Classified Lara has got me like…

Not just because I deeply want this character in Classified style but because if it proves we want these fusions then hopefully there’s a chance down the line of something like:

Nathan Drake
Indiana Jones
James Bond
The A-Team

"Recently aware"?

Raise your hand if you owned this - raise both hands if you still do!

My most shamefully raised hand. It was a different time! We didn't have many options. But I also had that Playmates statue-ish thing with her in the wetsuit? Pretty decent for the era.

The Tomb Raider/Witchblade crossover comic came up recently in a discussion with a friend who saw the Classified Lara. I mentioned I had it back in the day. His response:
Joel I say this with affection
for zero seconds did I entertain the possibility that you did not have that

So, honestly I popped a Peter Parker head on the BBWS Agent of Omega body and made that my Nathan Drake.

We literally have 6 inch Hasbro Indiana Jones figures already, - so I don't know why a Classified branded figure would be necessary.

As for James Bond, the BBWS Spy figure with the Agents of Omega young Connery head works... but also the Jamie Madrox head on that body is a more generic Bond for me.

The A-Team would be dope though. I have a Valaverse figure that sort of works as a Hannibal stand in.... but some Classified adjacent A-Team figures would be super fun.

I also repainted an Indiana Jones body and used the extra AoO head for a Sterling Archer, too.

I feel like the next additions for the spy squad are going to need to be John Steed and Emma Peel. A bowler hat on Marcus Brody might be good enough for Steed. I need an appropriate head, but a slight repaint of Baroness could work for Emma.... hmmm

Happy for those that are happy with them, but the Hasbro Indy figures just don’t cut it for me both in the articulation stakes and the scaling, feel much closer to Black Series than Classified so I’d still want to see him in a GI Joe crossover with proper double knees and elbows and more dynamic torso articulation and standing that smidge taller than 1:12

Crossover figures, Crossover figures... let me see. Oh I may have a few in mind....
Deep breath in
Well first a "winter" Lara in jacket and long pants with some round shades that will work on either version.
James Bond I'd like, maybe in a look like his "First Light" game that just came out.
Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell
Solid Snake from MGS
The Boss from MGS
"Soap" McTavish from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
John Price from COD: Modern Warfare
BJ Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein
Shepherd from Mass Effect. Male or female is fine.
Leon S Kennedy from Resident Evil, ideally in his RE4 costume.
Claire Redfield from RE
Chris Redfield from RE
Jill Valentine from RE
Ada Wong from RE
Kim Possible
Luc Deveraux from Universal Soldier
John Creasy from Man on Fire
Nomad from Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint
Jack Ryan from Tom Clancy stuff
Domingo Shavez from Rainbow Six
Tyler Rake from the Extraction series
Damian Scott and Michael Stonebridge from Strike Back
Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible
SG1 from Stargate
Dick Winters from Easy Company
Jack Bauer from 24
Jonas Blane from The Unit
Major Matoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell
Bobbie Draper from The Expanse
Jordan O'Neil from GI Jane
Molly Dawes from Our Girl
Hoot Gibson from Black Hawk Down
Matt Eversmann from Black Hawk Down

...Hows that?

Received Airtight from both Pulse and Amazon yesterday (almost perfectly timed).

I like the figure enough. He was one of my first Joes as a kid. It's a very straight forward update, with not a lot of frills. Sidearm, sniffer, hose, backpack, helmet. The removable helmet is a big seller for me, as I like to display helmeted guys without (Wetsuit, Torpedo w/o mask, Barbecue with Kamakura's head). Love that they committed to the male pattern baldness. The sniffer can kinda be stored if you push it into the gap in the center of his backpack. One more accessory could have been fun, maybe a vial of hazardous material or something. He's a Joe with a very narrow specialty, not versatile, really sticks out like a sore thumb thanks to that yellow jumper. But I'm psyched to have him to complete that '85 lineup.

I did have to remove a figure from the display to make room for him, so I went with Mercer in anticipation of Red Dog and Taurus imminent from Pulse.

Potential MGS characters are why I stockpile any classified figs I find on discount for custom fodder and spare parts!

I highly approve of your suggestion of a Tyler Rake figure too as that’s just a spare Thor head away from kitbashing, but your list also made me think of another figure I’d love to see in a Joe crossover…

Michael Scarn from Threat Level Midnight!

They did a James Bond crossover with Action Man in the 90's. It'd be fun to see updated. It's probably the longest shot we could hope for, using the new Classified AM head on some Bond inspired bodies. I can't imagine that Hasbro would finally be the ones to unlock the secret to actually getting actor likeness rights to figures.

My BBWS Spy is still sitting headless while I wait for a Brosnan head to come along from someone.
