G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

I think one reason I cut 90 percent of my Joes is while I enjoyed the ride, most of my nostalgia is couched in the late 80s and 90s stuff before I jumped off to X-Men in 93/94.

While I love the military stuff, it truly is the neon and absurd sci fi that speaks to me, and only recently have we gotten to it.

Was showing a friend Scarlett and TJ and Snake Eyes 91 and while she remembers Joe (she's 45), it was the neon jump suit and orange mask that lit her up with memories of her brother.

I'm still gonna be really picky, but I'm here for this.

Overkill and Ninja Force are core memories for attending four schools in fifth grade when I lived with my mother.

Now give me the 90s Eel.

He looks so cool. Him and Flak Viper. And I want that 94 viper with the gas mask helmet and purple and orange.

Also Annihilator.
Flak Viper is absurd, but he's another one I definitely love. I kind of used him as my SAW Viper, since I didn't have one of those.
The other big crazy-color Cobra for me right now is the v2 black-and-yellow Alley Viper. That figure was so badass.

Speaking of aquatic Cobras, FBD came over yesterday and we had our quarterly show and tell with figures that the other doesn't have (as two grown men often do) and he brought over his Hydro Viper.

It's something that's outside of my general parameters for what I told myself I need. But man, that's a very cool figure in-hand. Especially tempting after finally getting Wet Suit last night as well.

If you can't get the Classified version of Lara, I've been recently made aware of the 90's ToyBiz version that I'm sure would scratch the same itch

I have a ton of their other gaming figures. Jill from RE, Link from OOT, several Mario Kart characters, I think everyone from their X-men v Street Fighter, and Marvel v Capcom lines. And I knew about their Darkstalkers line despite not having any. Lara was one that passed my radar.

I’d do naughty things for someone to revive Resident Evil figures like Toy Biz did in the 90s, with modern engineering/articulation and no action features. There were some amazing zombies in that line. The later-wave zombie based on the classic video game box cover was freaking amazingly gross and awesome.

My best friend just gave me a Rubbermaid tote mostly full of GI Joe vehicles which were his of course. Some complete. Some broken and missing pieces. It’s a big ole tub of love and projects. I was really shocked. It has a complete APC and MOBAT. I’m going to have to clean them up and see if the electronics still work. But damn that’s cool! So many vehicles from 82-83 that I didn’t have as I was collecting 83-84 and didn’t get many of the vehicles. Anyway. I wanted to gush. My friend is amazingly thoughtful.

Thwipp!
