I'm a sucker for the Fatal Fluffy so thats a must have, and Shipwreck set is fun enough I definitely need to pick it up. So I'll be in tjat Hasbro line after all, even tho I want none of the other exclusives

There is scuttle-butt about that console coming in Cadet Deming and Shipwreck set having rings on top that suspiciously look like those MASS cylinders may fit in. So a real slow crawl to a Classified MASS device?

Yeah, I keep eyeballing that polar bear set to eventually be cheap enough to pick up. I have absolutely no interest or need for the divers and can definitely still find them around me. But never saw Breaker once, which is odd because my area usually does well with Target exclusives. No need for the figure though.

I bet someone is just selling the catalytic elements. They may go up in price if the new exclusive set does have connection points. We all love purpose for our accessories.
The more I look at this Fluffy set the more I day dream about owning them. Gonna be a costly bunch… Granted I just bought Elric from Savage Crucible today for $60 so toys be expensive. So cool seeing their product in person at the DFW Joe con.

So yeah it does look like the top of the console can hold the MASS elements which is cool and could lead to something down the road. However it could also just be a quick little nod to the fans, especially with Lenny gone now any plans for something bigger may be put asided.
I was watching The Full Force and he made a good point. The back of the box shows a table/chair thing that Shipwreck is on, but no sign of it anywhere else. So was it costed out? I also agree with him that if they had kept it in, even at a higher cost, it would have gone from a cool set, to another really great set. Oh well.
How is DFW looking Joe wise? Lots of dealers with great stuff? A lot of the same product from table to table?

The cartoon wasn’t shown here, all I had as a kid were the comics so most of the animation themed stuff goes over my head. However, they did release Pyramid of Darkness on VHS, it was my only exposure to it so I’ll always have a soft spot for it. Don’t know that I actually need a Fluffy but it’s hella cool that they’ve made one, it looks perfect to what I remember.
Of course, if they were to also do a disguised Shipwreck and Snake Eyes, I’d be throwing money at the monitor right now, no question.
No clue about the other set. More ladies is always good but I instinctively start twitching every time I see a CG not wearing red..! In any case, really fun pair of exclusives, love it.

I really enjoy the Full Force. His channel has been giving info and generating conversation for GI Joe for a long time. Him starting to use this jargon more has me wondering what he has heard.
To me Classified thrives because of the confidence Hasbro has that it will be profitable. They’re removing things shows me they are loosing some confidence. So they “hedge their bets” in their offerings.
Yo Joe June is going to show me more of how Hasbro feels. I don’t want to see more signs of Costing out.
The show is packed with a wide variety of vendors. Mostly Joe focused and the independent producers are there too. Code Name Iowa is here. They are bringing the well made fun designed apparel. Last year there really wasn’t a cool vendor with Joe shirts. Savage Crucible is here. Nothing to do at all with Joe but they make some of most intricately painted and well articulated sword and sorcery figures from the independent producers. Now that Four Horsemen have creeped up into the same price range for their “unique character” designs I’d rather give SC my $60. Skeletron is here and have fantastic 4 and 6” offerings. There are tables selling old and new Joe stuff. Loads of Hiya which are quite expensive but it’s fun to see such a big offering of those 4” Classified style. Those figures are packed with accessories and paint. They also load up the metallic paints and hits of chrome on their figures is cool. There are tables selling 3D printed designs. Those give me pause but they have a ton of Dino Rider armors made to fit Hammond collection dinosaurs and fit 1:18 figures. Very striking designs. They look good and mostly sturdy. Maybe light play. Valaverse is here again. Many years they’ve been coming. Loads and loads of Classified resellers. Seen just about every offering: figs, vehicles, Haslabs…last night was the preview and it had a moderate sized crowd. Curious how today goes.

I think Chris (Full Force) had connections before Lenny and Tony left Hasbro. Including Lenny himself, but now he has Lenny's ear every day since they work together. So I'm sure he has lots of info about what was/is going on behind the scenes. The question is for how long? I don't know what it is like for him now, but I imagine there are fewer and fewer people with knowledge he can mine at Hasbro, or wherever.
I think Classified will be fine for now. Losing the table was a choice that probably wasn't fought for too much at the time and whoever wanted to keep the price at a certain level which obviously wouldn't happen with the extra piece in the set. Looking at what happened with Cold Slither last year they might be a bit gun shy about another pricey set that will sit on Pulse a year later and have to be discounted to sell.
The more mainline/retail stuff still gets a pretty good loadout of accessories. Definitely more than other lines (ML, BS). So until that starts changing I won't be too worried.

I think this is just one of those rare times when something makes it into the public eye (and certainly, onto the packaging) that didn't cost out. But trust me.. stuff doesn't cost out all the time. Basically every wave of product Hasbro has ever released has things on the cutting room floor because they couldn't cost it out. It's not new.
The only weird thing is not redoing the back of the packaging.
So when this new Cobra Commander hits, that'll free up one of you to sell me that useless Soldiers of Fortune Enemy blue suited body that you'll have sitting around, right?
