G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

I guess a big box full of Zanya, Lizard, and weirdly Mongul and recovery suit Superman will be here either tomorrow or Monday from Amazon, my OG Rottclaw order also says Monday, all of these have now shipped.

. . . although I’ve got another Zanya arriving today from EE.

The masked paleo-trooper head (and the use of the name "paleo-trooper") is the only reason I was even interested in this box to start with. In the end, I couldn't justify the cost.

He’s like Scrap-Iron: rocking the team colors, but doing his own thing with it.

Rottclaw/Paleo-Viper and Deinonychus is *easily* my toy of the year at this point, this set is absolutely stunning. I’ve owned a LOT of “raptor”-type dinosaur toys in my time, and this guy is my favorite.
 
So I got the Hunter in green with the hope of getting a different design in tan. I’ve only seen the pictures so I’m not sure on color options. Love the additional hatches! Love the smoke launchers! All the new greebling is exciting. So hopefully it comes in tan.

Joes and Star Wars arriving tomorrow. Fun day!

That statement didn't age well. Why did I need to place a new Amazon order so she will arrive tomorrow, while my preorder still says Monday?
I wanted to try the same for my Astrotrain preorder, but he's currently not available.

I noticed I never had a receipt/shipping notice from EB for Zanya. Only the Purolator end.

I checked my account and she shows as fulfilled.

I checked my bank account and they never charged me.

Sweet deal.

Give it time they will hit you up sooner or later. I have had that happen a couple times with EB, Walmart, etc.
 
Opened Zanya and the Chameleon!

The Chameleon is big and chonky, finally feels like a thing an adult could actually ride. Zartan fits great (once you get him all fiddled onto the pegs and handles and such) and *stays* on, which is nice.

Zanya is *rad*. She makes me chuckle because she is so very much “girl in the goth-industrial scene circa 2003”; like I danced with and hung out with and dated girls who dressed and looked *exactly* like this at that time. She has somewhat darker skin than, say, Duke, which makes me feel a bit better about her potentially-appropriative hair: I’m gonna just presume that her mom is of a background that makes Zanya’s cyber-dreads less cringe. Her smirk and facial piercings are fantastic. They did a cool thing and painted the area around her ears the green of her hair, so there is no “gap” in the color but there *is* a slight gap over the ears for the glasses to slide easily on. The glasses stay well, but much better with the hat than the hair. Buuuuut my favorite is the spooky masked head, that takes her straight into Mad Max/The Purge territory: the blackened-lens “shark eyes” are truly creepy.
Her weapons are ehhh but also they work just fine. The big handgun and the machete work great, that dumb shotgun is just fodder.
All-in-all, GREAT release. Says a lot that I still think she’s this cool after already getting the unfettered glory that is Rottclaw and Deinonychus.
 
Hey gang. Anyone ever boiled and popped Classified figures apart at the thigh swivel? I Just opened up Zanya, got her all set up and... her fucking legs are on backwards. Before I expose her to boiling water, anyone know if it's pretty standard and with enough heat I won't fuck up her legs entirely?

I love this line, but this is two years in a row one of my most anticpated female characters had the limbs on backward. Retro cover girl had two left biceps last year.

If her legs are on backwards can't you just... swivel them around?
