G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

I don't think it's weird that there's no Joe news. Yo Joe June is right around the corner.
I'm not too worried about that. There is lots of product in the pipeline that hasn't been revealed including the SDCC exclusive and Haslab.

Speaking of Haslab I am starting to wonder if they might be cutting back on them this year in favour of MTO offerings instead. I took a look and last year there were only 4 Haslabs (TF, Classified, SW:TVC & Tron).

Tron failed to fund. Then (in order) the final totals for the other 3 were:

Clone Gunship - 10,541 (target was 8,000)
TF Liokaiser - 12,622 (target was 10,000)
Snow CAT - 16,437 (target was 8,000)

This is the first time in recent memory that at least one Haslab didn't get to at least 20,000 backers. The numbers were pretty low on average for the Haslabs last year. Lots of reasons I'm sure but I don't think the economy and overall fiscal environment is any better this year. So do they maybe forego some, or all, Haslabs this year?

I ask because last year the TF Haslab started funding in February and ended in March. Joe was July (June 30th) to August. SW was July to September and Tron was October to November. So yeah there is lots of time left for Haslab projects but we are now 4 months into the year with no hints of anything on the horizon. The Snow CAT and Gunship definitely got hurt by crossing over a bit with funding and I don't want to see that again. Also I wish they would stay away from the end of the year as well with holiday spending eating into options as well.

Anyway, might they be a bit gun shy this year with everything going on and the fairly weak numbers of last year? Again I don't imagine they'll skip doing a Classified Haslab, but it seems like they aren't doing much overall with Haslabs compared to last year at this time (with one funded Haslab already on the books by this time last year).

Seems to be a shift in the wind from HasLab to MTO, but we shall see.

Most of the Classified vehicles I’d want most are sub-HasLab size, by the “Thunder Machine” metric. I’m honestly more jazzed for the figures than the Snow Cat itself.

I tend to not post these anymore since I don't even watch them, and those of you who do make them sound lackluster to say the least. But also, can't even take some pictures that show something I haven't seen already (and better) with the Hasbro pictures?

With the state of the line... I don't know how common my style is but I still have a massive wishlist for Classified yet will NEVER fund a haslab. They could never do another Haslab yet I'll keep buying these figures.

I actually do appreciate you posting these. I never watch the video, but I do like looking at the super amateur pictures to get a non-varnished view of the figure. Also: it’s a good indicator that we are getting closer!!

Yeah, the HasLabs are nice and all, but they are not remotely necessary to keep me interested in the line. If ZERO vehicles had been made, I’d still be all-in.

I don't own any of the HasLabs but have a pretty hefty Classified collection. The HasLabs have a tendency to hit at times when I can't spare a couple hundred extra dollars. I WANTED the HISS and the Dragonfly, but couldn't make them make financial sense. I was good on passing on the rest. I don't really need the HasLabs to enjoy my collection though. I'm happy to stick to the smaller vehicles and am hoping they make the FANG and Skyhawk soon.

Honestly, Haslabs / MTOs are more stress-inducing than joy-inducing because I want them but they're such a huge commitment. I could live with a MTO every other year and just keep hammering out awesome figures and two-packs, the occasional small vehicle or playset here and there and they've got me for as long as I have money to spend. I've got a couple of Haslabs, I backed the SnowCAT, and I would be perfectly content if they just decided it's not profitable anymore and stuck their main line offerings.

It's not like you bastards are going to stage an intervention.
Intervention? What the hell is that?

I am a dyed in the wool ENABLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ROFLMAO:

Why do you think I posted about super expensive Haslabs?? I want everyone to join me in my bad financial decisions.

I will say I don't REGRET the Haslabs I've backed, they're incredible, but I look at them like "you moron, you can't be buried with this"

There's only one crowdfunder I've truly regretted and it hasn't shipped yet and I might actually ask to be buried with it.

Skill issue. Just lol if you haven't put something away for your own personal mausoleum so you can be preserved with your collection and be discovered millennia hence by alien archaeologists.

Perfect world we all get buried like the pharaohs with our toy collections. Although to tell you the complete truth I've made arrangements to have my collection liquidated to help my partner pay for stuff if I die before she does. There's a whole plan.
