..or,Speaking of NF Zartan, every time I see him all I see is Matt Smith:

You guessed it. Scarlett moonlights as a Mime on street corners for extra money. General Hawk thought it would be bad publicity, so they classified it.Why is Scarlett's secondary classified? Is it something truly horrific, like Juggling? Golf? Miming?
Worse. Improv comedy. Why is Scarlett's secondary classified? Is it something truly horrific, like Juggling? Golf? Miming?
Ohhh I don’t think so. Or at least this is the first I’m noticing, and I don’t believe I have missed a single Snake-Eyes file card.Entirely possible someone during the Fuckin' Weird Years re-did his file card to remove that
One of the reasons I wrote her up in the Disavowed cards the way I did was because Scarlett isn't a ninja, she's a 00 agent, basically. They're both deadly but she's the one you send in to FIND THINGS OUT and he's the one you send in to END THE SITUATION ENTIRELY. They're a perfect one-two punch and should be written as such. Snake Eyes does not do intelligence gathering. He's the sword that removes the head. She's the one who figures out what the head was thinking first.Ohhh I don’t think so. Or at least this is the first I’m noticing, and I don’t believe I have missed a single Snake-Eyes file card.
Snake-Eyes is a commando; Scarlett is the intelligence operator. That’s what makes them such a sweet team.
And people *always* underestimate how fucking lethal Scarlett is. She was the most dangerous fighter in the room *before* she started learning Arashikage shit from Snake-Eyes. Given that she comes from a generational family of martial artists, she almost certainly has been training *far* longer than Snake-Eyes, who is clearly a wunderkind fighter but didn’t get “serious” about ninja shit until after his tours with Storm Shadow in that :cough: conflict in a jungle environment at an undetermined time a few years before our story begins.
That is the most realistic explanation possible. That's like, a top ten most common layout fuckup.Maybe the designer forgot to update the template from CoCo when they made Snake Eyes' card.
I always figured that she was NF’s “handler”: like Hawk said “OK, Storm Shadow, we can’t like *officially* put you on the team but you can lead an off-the-books ‘force’ of your assassin buddies as a covert strike force, but Snake-Eyes takes point and you all answer to Scarlett, who answers to me”.I hated when they made her "Ninja Force" because sure she's a martial artist, but she's not a ninja.
I figured she was there to rep the team in some way since in the comics Ninja Force was a little... shady? But I also think it was just a toy company going "put martial arts chick in ninja costume because cool, huhuhuh." I think most headcanons we could come up with would smooth over the weird edges though.I always figured that she was NF’s “handler”: like Hawk said “OK, Storm Shadow, we can’t like *officially* put you on the team but you can lead an off-the-books ‘force’ of your assassin buddies as a covert strike force, but Snake-Eyes takes point and you all answer to Scarlett, who answers to me”.
