The Irishman
@Chooch555 and I have been discussing the idea of doing the GI Joe version of the amazing trading cards @hmmberto and his wife produced to be delivered to the Hasbro team as a way of physically conveying the top ten list for our site. The poll I conducted earlier yielded a lot of ties, which isn't going to work for us, but we're spitballing ideas of not only how to get a more solid list, but also how to produce a list that feels like stuff worth asking for. For instance, I'm not sure we should include the remaining O13 like Flash because they're clearly working on getting that list handled.
Chooch555 suggested doing a few categories, such as: never done, re-do in a different outfit, vehicles, maybe sub-line to expand into (like M.A.S.S. this year). We are also definitely talking about rank choice voting as a way to counter the 'too few voters' issue. Speaking for myself, I hope for a list that we all feel good about more than something that has the most popular characters. So that's why I want all of us to be on the same page about the purpose of this list as well as approach.
Here was Chooch555's draft for the text (originally posted in the main thread), which I love. It's entertaining and also is something the Hasbro people will actually read when they realize we haven't simply regurgitated the work of the great Mr. Hama:
The other thing to consider is timing. If we get these done in time for SDCC 2026, a lot of our cards may get voided since they've announced and even shipped several of them already, so this is something that should be done as quickly and as close to the event where they're being handed to Hasbro as possible. So another consideration is, when can that happen and who can do it? There's NYCC and the one in London, but I don't know if anyone here is attending those at all. I don't even know how Pulse Con works (is that strictly virtual), and I know collecting sites used to get into Toy Fair but I don't know now. And not sure if Hasbro has a presence at things like Wondercon etc.
So, a lot to figure out but can be a lot of fun.

How about a format like this for the file cards to give to the team:
Code Name: Ice Cream Soldier
Flamethrower Commando
Primary Collector Desire: Day-Glo Goodness
Secondary Collector Desire: Ironic Nameplay
Articulated Thoughts Poll Position: #32
Later ARAH figures are a tough sell with some folks, but ICS leans so far into the early 90's whackiness of the brand that he knocks it over back into being cool again. Collectors that love the era will trip all over themselves to get it and grizzled 80's-only folks will buy it out of respect for the audacity.
"When ( and I definitely mean WHEN) Ice Cream Soldier comes out, he goes into the absolute forefront of my display." @Spongyblue
