Seriously. Whenever I hear someone say that Trek or X-Men have "gone woke" I'm just baffled. Going back to their origins in the 1960s they were about inclusion, racial harmony, gender equality, and striving to be better as a species. How these fuckers didn't pick up on ANY of this in the past few DECADES is beyond me. I'll take "Missing The Point" for $800, Alex.
 
I assume there's a good sized group of X-Men "fans" that are really just Wolverine fans because he has cool claws and attitude or something.
Before Neil Gaiman crashed and burned the comments to news articles around the netflix Sandman show were interesting.

Because the modern day grift is for all sorts of Youtube channels to make money off of grievance and anti-woke sentiment. They all play up how woke Hollywood has ruined all of their favourite media. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy being the most recent hill they die on to make their petty little, grievance filled, fans bark and clap. All the while they get the clicks and merch sales that fill their pockets.
 
I used to enjoy a guy's GI Joe content on youtube, then he started streaming videogames, and recently he dyed his goatee jet black and started focusing in on complaining about other collectors who bring left leaning politics to their content. He looks like he aged 15 years in the past year.
 
Hate does age you. Factually. Look at Leavitt.

But yeah, many of those guys pivot because it's easy money. There's a huge deal recently with one of the original alt right gamergate patrons, the Quartering, where he's falling apart over being a cuck (objectively) and now that has weakened his power over the whole scene. I think many of them meltdown cuz they don't really believe what they're pedaling, but you do it enough and you brainwash yourself and then you just kind of short out.

There are so many YouTube channels in the toy community that just have hate boners for Hasbro and Star Wars and everything. It's tedious. I get it. You don't like Rey and TLJ. To this day they will make content hunting down peg warmers and stuff. It's ridiculous.
 
It's incredible how much the right relies on anger to fire up its base. I know people comfortably retired, have enough money to basically do as they please, and yet they're fucking miserable because the media they consume has convinced them that everyone is out to get them. They basically won, got their shitbag president back, majority in both chambers, and yet they're still constantly angry about everything.

Just coming back to it, it makes sense that hate would age you and take a toll because hate is really fear and anger (no I'm not trying to Star Wars) and those emotions keep you in fight or flight and adrenaline and stress. If you constantly think someone somewhere is out to get you and ruin your existence, and that's all you're thinking about, small wonder it's just ripping years out of them faster than the holy Grail.

Because even people who do have that existence still have community and a culture of their own. Most of those haters don't.

My mother, every time something changes now that negatively affects her or her social security in any way: "thanks to Biden, _____". "The damn democrats." "When Obama was in office", "when the people's president Obama..."

I'm like...c'mon now.

The bad stuff is blamed on democrats, and if she finds anything good to talk about (which is a true rarity) then it's Republicans. Amazing how that works.
