Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

Anyone do much by way of feet swapping on these guys? I'm trying to make Diis Paatar (god I fucking hate that name) into a more useful humanoid and the only thing I don't have is feet - I actually have a shadow elf head that'll work just fine on the body and spare hands out the hoo-hah. Trying to figure out if the regular old leather boot feet will fit or if I need to go all the way back and find some 2.0 body feet.

This is an action figure Kickstarter. That's literally all it is. Take away the book they might never even produce and I bet the funding goals wouldn't even change. It's all about making toys. I have no idea why they even felt the need to dress this up in a TTRPG trenchcoat.
I'm 100% sure aside from if you subtract X dollars for the cost of the book or whatever their funding amount stays within spitting distance of what it is now if they just did action figures.
It really is an interesting Kickstarter. The whole reason they chose to go to Kickstarter was because it was such a good TTRPG advertising platform. Yet, the game has very much not been the focal point of the campaign - it’s still action figures.
It's such a frustrating dichotomy - like for a real TTRPG kickstarter you see real excitement - adding stat blocks for creatures, unlocking classes, unlocking bonus modules/adventure hooks, like actual game shit. This has been all action figure unlocks with some token items for the game. I bet they would've made more money just doing the figures on their site.

I dare anyone to even tell me anything about the game that this Kickstarter is ostensibly -for-.
I'll wait.
you see you flip the map over and enter what’s known as a “Mythic Encounter” (mythic is of course synonymous for “epic”, don’t question it! This is a fact!) where the squares are four times larger.

In these “Mythic Encounters” you’ll use Mythic Legions action figures and pose them in the spells you’re about to cast or the blow you’re about to land… you know, Mythic Legions well known for their articulation and ability to hit naturalistic poses! And we all know the most fun part of toys is watching someone struggle to pose one while you wait for your turn to play! You can also use the plastic standees included in the beginner’s box… why yes, that does imply the posing of the figures isn’t actually part of the game and the mythic encounters could just be played on the standard sized map meaning the game is functionally just a shitty D&D module with no unique gimmicks…

But have you also considered they call Tabaxi “Jaugarians”?!

Having just crossed one million there is no denying this has been a successful campaign. Not really sure a successful campaign for what exactly but that’s still a lot of money. I can only hope it is doing what they need it to do to continue offering these paired down figures and accessory sets - which is what everyone seems to be really wanting out of this. Maybe drop the game but keep catering to this ‘build your character’ idea for those people that do want to make their character but not necessarily use it in-game.

So, watching the Weekly Rewind with Robo (You guys ever hear of it? It's kind of niche,) and I'll be damned, if he didn't rell me something that finally got me interested in this kickstarter; bag of skulls. I might get three of them, to have at the Horse's hooves in my Savage Crucible Death Dealer display. I'm gonna use the Deluxe Dungeon Set's pile of skulls to hold Death Dealer's spear, so the skulls will help to make a richer scene immersion. The only problem I really see with all this is that Death Dealer and his Horse are a full year or so out from being finished and shipped, and these skulls are like three years out...

...What to do...

Just wait until Halloween and buy a bag of skulls that usually show up at Target or Walmart. A LOT cheaper, and you'll get MORE that you can paint any color you want, and organize them any way you want.

Some fun figures in the Kickstarter. I pledged for the Cleric with upgrades and both the heroic and evil Paladin. I agree that the evil Paladin could use a closed-face helm to breakup all the blue a bit more.

Also pledged for the Wizard, which looks cool, and I think my daughters might like her.

I added the dwarf and orc for now, since we are rewatching Rings of Power. Not sure if I will keep them in the pledge. The skeletons are tempting, but I have a ton of skeletons already.

I don't think there's going to be too long a wait for the figures. They've already sold a batch of paladin figures at SDCC, I doubt they just produced a small amount for the show. And Kickstarter lists December as fulfillment, so probably early next year.

They claim to have done all the preproduction on the figures for a quick turnaround on these to have them out before the end of the year. The game itself could be the wildcard given how long the lore book is taking (apparently this summer is the latest ETA).
A quick turnaround would be a breath of fresh air. It’s not just the 4H so much seems to have gone the pay up front and wait a ridiculously long time for items to ship.

If they planned well there's literally nothing new in any of these figures - it's not like this is the dragon they hadn't finished engineering on when they did their crowdfunding for. Logic would dictate it wouldn't take three years to ship but it's also 4H.

I'm really hemming and hawing on what to order. I think it's the price jump between figures. Like I'm easily gonna get the cleric, rogue, and druid - 30 bucks is an easy sure yes I'll git that. And the 15 dollar parts swaps are a low buy in. (Hell I might even get a set of the unpainted minis since I still actually get joy out of painting my own and the unpainted sets are cheap AF, not just for 4H but like, for actual plastic unpainted minis, I'll give them credit for not overcharging at all for those). But the leap from 30 base figure to 60 dollars for a figure that will come with too many parts to use is hanging me up. I like the paladin color scheme but maybe not 60 dollar like it. Also one of those cases where I wish they had "just the body" options available because I could see myself wanting the wizard AND druid or the rogue AND ranger but I don't need parts piling up I'll never use.

Most of the items will go up $5 after the kickstarter (even as early as in the backer kit) but the deluxe paladin/clerics go up $10 so if your balking at $60, they won’t be any more appealing at $70. Not sure is that sways you one way or another but they are the ones that jump the most after the campaign. Still not like a four horsemen direct preorder price to retail kind of jump at least.
