Forum Feedback

My wife to the rescue again. I think the mail issue originated from missing DNS records. For those who don't know, it's a pretty simple fix. I didn't even think to look, but she did.

I'll know for sure by the end of the day.

One more group feedback question: What do we think about emoji reactions?

XenForo has a ton turned on by default. It was giving Facebook, though, and Facebook gives me the ick. I turned almost all of them off. I added the heart and the laughing face. (The thumbs up can't be turned off, not that I'd want to.) Is there anything else you'd like to see?

I briefly considered the shocked face (😮), fire emoji (🔥), and emphasis (‼️). Thoughts?

I concur about Facebook.

I'm pretty happy with those options (the laughing, like, and heart). The tariff thread has made me feel things not covered by those emojis but I'm not anxious to express them, so I'm cool leaving it with those.

Likes/thumbs up are fine, but in my previous experiences it seems like the more you add 'engagement by button click,' the less actual valuable engagement you get and everyone starts relying on quick-reacts rather than actually posting a response themselves. It was the same reason we actually banned one- and two-word style posts way back on the old BA forums. You ended up with someone wanting to show off a custom or something and 47 posts of 'cool.' Thanks for your contribution, Brantley.

As someone who leans on gifs a lot, AND just liked your post... I agree. This seems like an engaging bunch though.

Just commenting so I'm not guilty of doing exactly what you called out.

I'm happy with fewer emojis - a thumbs up is plenty for me. Though, is there the option to make custom ones? It'd be pretty cool to have a "Fwoosh!" emoji...
