Disney Toybox Hall of Armor Mod Question

Ok, so, a little while ago I got myself the Disney Toybox Iron Man Hall of Armor. And it is, as advertised, super rad and really great for Marvel Legends. I recall someone saying that the designer for it created it specifically to fit your ML collection as well as the figures it comes with, but looking at it, I've been wondering something. The holes in each of the armor bays at around arc reactor height seem really specifically designed, almost like they are made for particular lighting. The gaps at the top of each bay seem likewise conspicuously specific in design. I've seen some folks put LED pucks in the top of the setup to get some downlight through the iris, but it seems these other spaces might have been purpose made for their own lighting. Anyone have any ideas here? I've looked a bit online to see people's setups but haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

I love those. I really, really wish they’d be made readily available, or made available again. I’d love to get more.

As for your question at hand, I think I’ve seen someone feed lighting into them through LED light strips somehow, but can’t recall who or how. So I’m not much help.

Ah well. Hopefully somebody else has some ideas. It's entirely likely it's a random choice, but boy it seems like these are specifically made for something. I know there are small LED puck things made specifically for Gundams and I really wonder if those might fit. It just seems like such a specific design...

This just made me wish they hadn't given up on Toybox. Those were fun lil guys.

I feel like Disney Store has all but given up on the action figure market. All I see are old exclusives, if at all, and the larger talking figures. Doesn't help that Diamond Select went kaput. Toybox was in house though, and I loved the style. I collected it across licenses, the Marvel ones, Star Wars, Disney/Pixar.. they were rad.

They never marketed the line well. They're lovely little figures. I'd still be buying them across multiple IPs if they made them. I think the last set was the Namor/Shuri set? At least for Marvel.

Here is my setup with some in-progress pics. These are Aiboo lights from Amazon. I had to get creative with attaching, the adhesive that came with them was not reliable, but the lights themselves work well.

Man I missed out on these when they were on the Disney store. I only caught on when they were just finishing clearing them out. I wish some company would take another crack at this type of product, at a reasonable price. Although I guess if they had to clearance them out they weren't big sellers.

The Disney Stores had a lot of great in-house figures over the years. I still have their Incredibles figures on display, and I was a big fan of the Toy Box line. I still grab their Astromech releases, but that is more from the parks than the Disney Stores. With the most of the brick and mortar stores closing a few yeas back, it seems like the end of an era for in-house action figures from the Disney Store.
