DC Mezco One:12 Collective

Have the rolling eyes ever been done on a smaller figure like this before? That's a feature I'm really only familiar with on Hot Toys.

Forgive my ignorance as well, but how are Mezco bodies? Are they sturdier versions of the old MEGO style body? The old GI Joe 12 inch figures? Somewhere in between? With a figure like Scarecrow that has softgoods clothes, are the joints relatively stable enough to allow some pressure without snapping? Assuming the softgoods aren't too taut against the body?

My limited experience with Mezco is that the standard bodies are pretty sturdy. The soft goods have enough flex to take advantage of things like double-jointed elbows, but I wouldn't leave a figure posed in such a way that it's putting a lot of stress on the material. Then you may end up with permanent stretch that causes folds and creases when you try to return to a less demanding pose. Their soft goods are rarely assembled in such a way that they can be removed, so you do have to exercise some caution out of the box to make sure things are lined up properly underneath before you start going to town. I'm guessing Scarecrow will be on a pretty standard buck, though with thinner limbs. Some of their figures (like the female Power Rangers) use a silicon body which can be a little trickier, but the soft goods over the body lessens concerns about the silicon cracking.

Mezco's bodies are good. It's the rest of the package—mostly the fabric—that causes problems. It can tear, discolor, or fall apart over time.

Scarecrow's costume is loose-fitting enough that you'll probably be fine.

Most of my anime gooner girls and third party figures have the feature. You use the same wand to move them. It's great. Adds so much personality.

Mezco bodies feel like premium Hasbro to me. Plastic is great. Range and motion (never any stuck) is fantastic out of the box, but your mileage will depend on the character and buck. I wouldn't compare GI Joe or MEGO to them. More like a good Legends figure.

Pressure, I assume you mean if you can't tell where the elbow is and bend it the wrong way. I'd always be gentle with them and do a test before commiting to a big bend, especially wrists and elbows.

Soft good depends on the figure. Some of them can be very taut, but still give range. Crane here looks baggy.

However. Don't use these photos at all to get excited because they Photoshop the fuck out of their promos so poses could be lies, range could be lies, even the material and how it falls and is textured.
