DC 1/6th scale thread (Mondo, Hot Toys , Sideshow Collectibles, DC Direct)

Well, I've done it, gents. I've ordered the single-handed most hideous Batman who ever Batmanned. Couldn't help myself:

In my defense...and oh brother, do I need a good defense...I really like the suit. I will figure something out in regards to the head lol

But also, if HT released this one from the Flash suit vault, then maybe they'll release others. And if they do, I'll regret passing this one up.
 
I think they were trying to imitate the Jim Aparo look with the furrowed forehead but that doesn’t translate well in 3-dimensions. I ordered one this morning bright and early as I was just opening my eyes and I’ve regretted it ever since. I sent a cancellation notice to Pop Collectibles hopefully they get back to me

He's now wait listed on Sideshow. I kind of like the unintentional goofiness, but I went with the Japanese Spider-Man. I hit the RSVP button for Spidey on Sideshow, but now they're saying he might not be available in the US, so I had to get him from Pop Collectibles. I spent a little time deciding between the two and may have got the last Spidey from Pop.
 
Looks like I was too late on canceling my order. The damn thing shipped already. Welp…I guess for the first time since 1992 I’m going to have a new Michael Keaton in a conceptual batsuit to display and mess around with.

Honestly, I wish I was even more irresponsible and bought Batman and Spidey in one day. May you guys enjoy or sell for a profit.

I haven't bought a Hot Toys Batman since the first two releases. I still have one, the other was sold after his hip apparently disintegrated while standing on a shelf.
 
I know the wrinkles are accurate but I think they may have been better going without them in this one instance.

That said, if they're willing to do this then give me a Nic Cage Superman!
 
Ugh I went from being an overly enthusiastic new hot toys collector to feeling sick to my stomach with this line in the span of one week. My credit card bill is bound to be like $7k no thanks to my impulsive recklessness

Sideshow is usually pretty good with returns if you change your mind. Worse comes to worse, the aftermarket on Hot Toys is usually pretty good. May not get exactly what you paid for it, but there's always folks out there willing to buy.
 
Batman 89 2.0 (regular) and the Batman Returns 2.0 (deluxe) finally arrived over the weekend. I saw on 89 2.0 for too long and missed out on the deluxe at a decent price.

I know there has been lots said about the texture of his suit, but in hand I actually kind of like it. I know I'm in the minority there, but it feels fun to touch. The face sculpts are as advertised, so I paired him with a Jaxon custom mouthplate and he looks really good. Thinking about updating the cape, but not sure yet.

I opened Returns just to make sure everything looked good, but I didn't pull him out to mess around with him yet. I'm still trying to re-work the display / reviewing space, so everything looks like the former East Wing of the White House right now.

I also got the Deluxe Iron Man 2 Stark Suit-Up figure, it was only $175usd on PopCultcha (they've resumed shipping to the US). I'm feeling good about all of this because I haven't received my credit card statement yet 🤕
 
I'm excited for the 25th, as I'm finally allowed to open the Joker figure (Phoenix) my wife got me for Christmas. Other than him, the only Hot Toys on my preorder at the moment are Batman & Robin movie figures. Still on the fence about Mr. Freeze. Figure looks great, but how much representation do I really need from that particular movie...

I'm excited for the B&R figures, they actually look pretty good. I'm sure the articulation will be poor, but hey - 1/6 Clooney lol

I skipped the Mr. Freeze because I already had the SooSoo Mr. Ice (Freeze in his jammies, frozen stogie, and ice chair). I have him proudly displayed with his polar-bear slippered feet crossed and having a great time kicking back. Somehow, that seemed fitting enough.
 
I don't have the money or space for something like that, but it is really cool.

Hopefully it will be done justice in a smaller scale some day.
 
The absolute trinity should be the final release from McFarlane no way should we be waiting years for a budget friendly release of the big three
