Cosmic Legions

I’d be curious to see what those miner heads look like on the TU5CC bodies if you ever try that swap. Glad to hear your thoughts on the wave.
I'll do a pop and swap tonight and post some pics. The fun part about the miners is I wouldn't feel bad cannibalizing the parts because I could also use their heads that have the protective hoods up on their actual miner bodies and use the uncovered heads on someone else and really, create two different versions of the in a way without wasting parts. IIRC the male TUSCC head REALLY didn't want to come off to swap, but I'll give it a shot. (The miner heads are smooth pop and swaps.)

So I tried their head out on those generic bodies. His looks fantastic and fits great. Both of her heads aren’t the same size —this head wobbles like crazy and the one with the hood falls right off. Not sure why they decided to use different parts only on her. I’m bummed out cos I like them both better on these bodies than the mining equipment.

Ok, quick update - I put a sliver of waxed paper inside the head and she now REALLY works in black. However, I'm going to need to blast the hell out of her neck peg on her original body because the comes with two neck pegs, one to fit each head, and holy HELL I can't get the one she shipped with out! It also has a tech-style ring at the bottom so I can't even use it to swap in on the black body. That being said, I honestly like these two more on the smaller bucks. The minor suits are cool but kind of overwhelmingly big.

It’s great that they look so good on the regular bodies, though a bummer that the female head doesn’t fit perfectly. I’ve been really into the look of those new miner suits since they were first revealed. I watched a couple reviews, and I’m not thrilled about the pieces that plug into the belt; that seems like recipe for missing pieces down the road. Still, I’m looking forward to getting these.

Got my Cosmic ladies from the Thraxxon wave yesterday and I'm pretty happy with both of them. The coat on Kurnn is great, other than it hides all of her other fun details and paint. I'll probably leave it off of her in the long run. Uularia provides some nice proportional contrast against the petite and medium Cosmic ladies I already own. My only complaint is that Kurnn has a big drop of black paint just above her left eye, but I'm sure Four Horsemen customer service can help get me sorted with a new head for her.

The coat really is an amazing bit of work innit? But she's so cool underneath it. I think I'm with you on leaving it off because it hides too much really fun design work underneath. (Her helmet is also awesome but I love the face paint work too much to not use it.

4H customer service was very quick to say they'll send a replacement head, although from my previous experience with a broken Poxxus bow, it might take a few months to receive it. Still, I'd rather get a free replacement head a few months from now instead of paying $20-$30 to buy one on eBay and it have it by next week.

My Ukha had some paint rub off his eyeball onto his packaging. This isn’t a glare on the eye. Black paint came off. I can probably paint it. But I should request a replacement, right?

That's a big ding. I'd ask. And unlike previous waves I don't think they'll be completely sold out on these - I bet they have enough for a replacement. (That little guy is my favorite of the wave, he's so ugly-cute.

That's a good problem for the line to have. I'm a lifelong Star Trek fan, but my one ongoing complaint is too many humanoid species. They tried to explain it once as being an ancient race that seeded humans on planets throughout the galaxy, but I really dislike that ret-con knowing that most space fiction chooses humanoids because it's cheaper and doesn't alienate the audience as much.

I don't like Farscape as much as Star Trek, but I REALLY loved that show due to how alien and varied the species were. The Cosmic Legions figures thus far are even more alien than the Farscape characters, and I really respect that about the line.
“Ret-con” probably isn’t the best term for that. This explanation comes directly from TOS, after several of their stories featured humans on other worlds in different cultures. The story was created to explain why so many non-federation worlds had humans.
I do agree with the “complaint” though. In TOS, Spock is the only alien we ever see among the crew, and he was half-human. There are mentions of other non-human crew, but we never see them.
Star Wars suffers from a form of this too. 90%+ of the featured characters are human. Aliens are often just filler in the background in a “see, this is sci-fi” fashion. In a “galaxy wide” conflict almost everybody on both sides his human. Just seems “unrealistic” in terms of the universe they created.
I’m a big fan of Farscape (and B5), and the attention and development they did with many of their alien races. Comic Legions line is a nice playground for one to develop their own head-cannons with a blank slate if one chooses to.
