Comic Book Talk

I read the first issue of the Black Panther Imperial tie-in and was jarred to find internal T'Challa monologue. I don't know that I've ever read that before. Priest making Ross the POV character/narrator and BP almost an inscrutible force of nature apparently really stuck with me for decades.

Yes, this is going to be a thing. It comes out on February.

The Fantastic Four and Planet of the Apes. Icons of the 60's.

Can't wait.
Oh geez. Whose faces is Greg Land going to "ape" now?

Why do Reed and Sue have the same mouth thing going on? Ugh, I liked Land during Sojourn and his art is pretty, but knowing how it comes about kills it.

The part that doesn’t make sense is the “versus” part. They fight a whole planet? Not named Ego?

Heh. Well, Planet of the Apes versus Fantastic Four sounds more dramatic than Planet of the Apes MEETS Fantastic Four, I suppose.

I am looking forward to this mostly because of my age, I think. I'm a child of the 60's and I love nostalgia. When I was little I used to dream of my favorite comic book heroes meeting the characters from the big sci-fi and fantasy movies and TV shows of the time. For instance, Rip Hunter: Time Master and The Time Tunnel, the Sub-Mariner and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Adam Strange and Flash Gordon, Batman and the Green Hornet (Which kinda did happen), the Legion of Super-Heroes and Star Trek, Ant-Man and Fantastic Voyage, and Green Lantern and Lost in Space.

Now, all these years later, we have the Fantastic Four and Planet of the Apes. I just think that's super cool, but I understand if no one else is as excited. You had to have been there.

Oh I'm POTA on TV perpetually in the 70s age. I love POTA. Have Sideshow 12" ones and the NECA ones. I just would have gone for "The Fantastic Four ON the Planet of the Apes" On, And, Return ... all those work.
