If they were real I’d grab a couple, if they were real, which they aren’t. I do like giant action figures though.
I don't know what's worse, that it's getting harder to spot, or that people don't care. It's nice of them to want that, but ain't no way that will happen in that amount of time or for that low a cost. For an AI concept it looks cool I suppose, but the amount of collectors who could or would go in for it (they also say pay for all of them up front, so over 2k out of pocket) is just not realistic.
He uploaded more of these style of images all in a row and some are more clearly AI than others. Pretty sure this is the slop machine getting better. TBF, there are a LOT of con photos out there to train on.
edit: there's another one of some figures from Legend where someone identifies it as AI and then suggests he should sell art prints of them and I want to throw my computer out a window now. I just gave somebody an extra print cause of a sale I made on a very old piece of art I did and like... god it's so depressing. Here I am passing out freebies to art I actually made and motherfuckers out there offering to pay through the nose for someone else punching buttons.
The generous part of me wants to say he's just an ignorant fan with a platform and he doesn't really get how production happens. The cynical part of me thinks he absolutely knows, and is presenting it this way, as though enough people commenting on these will move the needle for an entity like Hasbro, because it drives his own engagement and therefore income. Also these guys gotta keep in mind these companies CANNOT legally take their ideas. (I know, some indie vendors do it all the time but...) They open themselves up to all kinds of legal shenanigans if they admit to having seen the images and later do anything remotely like this.
I said this in another thread, I can't tell what's real anymore when I go online.Awesome use of PhotoShop and/or AI.![]()
I think this can go back to that discussion we were talking about with art and artist alley and many people just want recognizable pop culture shit regardless of skill or style or authenticity.I don't know what's worse, that it's getting harder to spot, or that people don't care.
