Sorry to be morbid, but I figured I would put this thread up as a way to commemorate the passing of celebrities we know and love. Or hate, that is up to you.

Anyway, just saw that Ruth Buzzi has passed away at 88:

Last year I got into watching old episodes of Laugh-In after watching a bunch of the Dean Martin Roasts. So I got familiar with her character Gladys and then other characters she played on Laugh-In.

A shame she was battling dementia in her final days, but she is at peace now. Kind of sad to see another personality from that era pass. So many great talents that are no longer with us.
 
This is the hard part of getting older. Saying good bye to people that brought us joy and made us forget about hard times for a little while. Family members, celebrities, pets even us individually- time is the one enemy we cannot beat, no matter how hard we try. I was around when Laugh-in was originally on the air and watched it with my parents. I loved Ruth Buzzi's Gladys and Arte Johnson's dirty old man. So funny and yet compared to today so tame but funny none the less.
 
I was sad to hear of Ruth Buzzi's passing. Since my parents grew up with Laugh-In, Carol Burnett, and all that, the reruns were on constant loop in my house as a kid. Most people- even of my generation, let alone younger- don't seem to know who she or a lot of those classic comedians of the time were, which makes me sad. We still have a handful of legends from that time, though; it's gonna be such a shame whenever Carol Burnett or Dick Van Dyke pass away (which is hopefully a long time from now).

Heck, I'm still not over Robin Williams.

I remember thinking he was looking a bit worse off during that little mini reunion they did during the Emmys a couple years ago. Still thanks for all the laughs and Rest In Peace.
 
My favorite Norm Cheers entrance line will always be " It's a dog eats dog world and I'm wearing Milkbone umderwear." I laughed so hard at that line. One of the greatest comedies ever and great cast of characters. Here's hoping Coach and Rebecca are poring him a cold one. R.I.P Mr. Wendt-Forever Norm.
 
They were all my friends...and they died. Sorry, I love that song so I had to. As for Robert Redford...don't have much to say. Good age, seemingly good life. RIP
 
I swear, I saw this scene as a kid and I've spent a lifetime as a storyteller trying to find a single line and delivery as perfect as this:
"You know me. I'm the same as you. It's two in the morning and I don't know nobody."

Someone said we lost one of the lions of cinema today and I can't think of a better way to describe it.
