C.O.P.S. 'n Crooks

I definitely had a few, but I think just bad guys... and the one with the robot dog. I was thinking I could slip a few of these in with my Classified Cobras, but definitely not the aesthetic I'm going for. I know some of us really enjoy the more outlandish Classified designs so I could see some of these being popular.

Damn, Bullit really committed to the bit.

Vala being a douche and scooping up a trademark name? Again? It literally gains him nothing, as he doesn't own the intellectual property or designs. It was a dumb move by him to spend "a lot of money on a lawyer" to the Action Force name, since it's so damn generic and gains him access to nothing design-wise. He got the Action Force name and obviously COPS to spite Hasbro. Nothing more. What a fool...again.

Careful, next time you might order a product from him and he's going to send you a handwritten note insulting and berating you.

Eh, while Action Force is super generic, the name was probably worth the few thousand dollars to get attention for the line.

Just like if you’re gonna do a a line of cop figures, the name might be worth owning because it has some recognition

He sent a letter to an eBay reseller because they were marking up the figures, not sure if there were others. I mostly like Bobby. I think he's right about a lot of things, but he must be exhausting. Too thin skinned, carries too many grudges, and designed Six Armed Spider-Man (from Kingpin wave).

He also designed the X-Men TRU box set. To be fair, he has said that was originally an Amazon box set until they backed out and he had to save from cancelation.

I want to say there was a guy who gave Action Force negative reviews or something. So when Bobby found out the guy was ordering more figures, he added a personal note to the shipment saying something like "I thought you didn't like these" or the like.

I can't find any reference to it, so I'm likely misremembering the details, but it was something like that.

Did he really do that? Because I feel like he really did that.
The incident I am referring to happened on the HISS forums.

During the original successful Kickstarter or product launch (both?), someone had placed an order for a set. When they received it, they claimed they received a personalized note in the box. The user had been skeptical and critical, but had gone in. Vala noted his username and cross referenced it to the real people in the order index - if I recall, further, in the discussion it was revealed that he had at least put a username to a real name for many of the HISS regulars, and made this known.

I don't know if other people also got notes, but this poster claimed they got a personal note that berated and insulted the buyer because they had been a skeptic or hater, yet here they were cash in hand.

I attempted a cursory search and can't find the specific thread. I had seen the link shared around when it was fresh, and it was screenshot and shared around various groups. Others claimed they had received the same personal attention in various groups or Reddit. It was my understanding Vala did respond to the original HISS poster on his own channels confirming it and justifying it.

So, I admit I come into this knowing literally nothing about COPS and Crooks as a property. I'm intrigued by this lune because of FMF and the ability to make it Joe adjacent.

So I had no idea there are 29 unique characters in the line. That seems like a ton and FMF almost certainly won't be able to get to them all. Frankly most of the villains would need a modern makeover to tempt me - the big shoulder pads and jodhpurs look for many of the thugs is way too neon-80s-Miami Vice for me

That said I will absolutely buy 1/12 versions of a whole bunch of these - Bullit, Nightstick, Powder Keg, Barricade all instant purchases.
Checkpoint, Taser, Bowzer and Blitz... I mean who wouldnt want a robot dog side kick?

Like I said, the villains appeal less, but with minor tweaks I'd be in for Nightmare, Hyena, Big Boss... maybe Koo Koo and Buttons McBoom Boom (those names are hilarious though)

Anyway... I'm intrigued to see how deep FMF will get into this

Not at one figure per wave, that's for sure. I'm also skeptical that we'd ever get a Blitz. I don't get the vibe from them that they're ready to do critters.

I don't mean that as shade, I just think their library relies on reusable parts.

However, I'm a huge COPS fan from my childhood AND I currently work as a radio dispatcher for my local PD. I'm on board for however many of these mo-fos they put out.
