I didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd make one. We have a thread covering 1/12th Scale. So, I made this Thread to cover all the rest from Boss Fight Studios in other scales.

1/18th, Immortal Champions, Saurozoic Warriors, Power Stars etc.

But with BFS getting rights to Conan, I thought we might start the thread off to discuss what we'd like to see in 1/18th scale from that property. Because surely, they will make 1/18th scale Conan figures to go with the likes of Red Sonja.

Also, there are a lot of great 1/18th scale figures scheduled to come out soon that have been up for pre order for a while to talk about. I have 13 1/18th figures currently pre ordered such as the next Wave of Fantasy with the Tavern Inn Keeper, The Halfling, Dwarf Warrior, and Orc King. Then all the new Knights they have coming out and the Archers.

I get the impression that Boss Fight will be moving away from 1:18 figures.
And no, I don't mean that in the way that people were saying it every year since Boss Fight's inception, screaming that they're 'abandoning the scale' with literally no evidence except they hadn't released a new figure that week, or dared to show off a Dinosaur-man or what-the-fuck-ever.

But yeah, I do think BFS is legitimately moving away from the scale. Partly for the same reason the 4H abandoned it when starting Mythic Legions; the 1:18 market is much smaller than the 1:12/1:10 market, and it's not appreciably cheaper anymore to produce smaller figures. So it makes more sense to increase the price a little bit, increase the scale by almost half, and open yourself up to a wider market.
Also, HACKS was very much a Catrina/Erik thing and I have the notion that Dipshit McFuckstain is trying to move away from their legacy (slowly, so as not to upset his apple cart).

That new wave of fantasy HACKS has been on the horizon for how many years now? It is CLEARLY not a priority, and barely much else after it has even been teased or hinted at. You may see Conan and Belit in 1:18, because why not they've got the license and will probably just re-use existing HACKS bodies, so it's easy and cheap to do. But don't count on a robust 1:18 offering, generally, from Boss Fight ever again. Start being happy knowing what exists is the vast majority of what will exist.

In my opinion.

I could totally see that happening Damien. I know they flat out said they'd be doing no more themed Waves. Like entire Waves of Fantasy. This next Wave of Fantasy, that has been being made forever, is the last Wave I believe that's just all flat-out Fantasy. After that if they release Waves of 1/18th Non Hero HACKS, it sounded like they'd be mixed, like some Fantasy, some Spartans, maybe a Pirate or Space themed figure.

But that's IF they even continue. Because everything you said seems right and real likely. Maybe I should change this thread to cover everything else besides 1/12 and not just 1/18.
Might get more use out of it that way.

So yes, during the Erik/Catrina era of HACKS, they realized it was taking too long to get the themes out there. Not because it took too long to make them, but because every theme ended up being so popular that they kept making new waves in that theme for longer than they planned. Great problem to have, but it definitely started making people cranky that were anticipating Space and Pirates (Themes 3 and 4, respectively). So the plan was after the new bodies are introduced in the (still unreleased) new wave, they'd start splitting the waves up into multiple themes. So we could still get a knight, but also a new pirate, and a spaceman, and a Greek hero, and whatever else they had planned for later.

If that plan survived Catrina/Erik's departure, I do not know. As I said above, the reality is that Dickhead has clearly decided to actively de-prioritize HACKS entirely. And that's not surprising since HACKS wasn't Andrew's thing at all. I'm sure part of it is removing Erik and Catrina's legacy (just look at which brands/items aren't getting any love anymore), and part of it is just Andrew not wanting to do things that Andrew doesn't personally like.
I'd say the only reason we see anything HACKS ever again is because the tooling exists so it's easier money, and Andrew still needs to try to appease that original BFS support crowd, which is made up of mostly HACKS collectors. Being still a smaller, 'fan-driven' type of company, he does have to be careful not to seem like BFS is abandoning its longest-term supporters. At least until they build up enough of a consumer base on the other stuff that they can tell the HACKS crowd to kick rocks.

Hey, out of curiosity, did anyone order the Wal-Mart Con Exclusive Immortal Champions Skeleton Warrior that's blue?
