Boss Fight Studios 1/12 and EPIC HACKS

It isn't even the RHoD that I disliked about the 1000Toys version that made me sell it to a Fwoosher without even opening the shipping package it came in, lol - it was the fucking rubber torso. 😏
Yeah, when I heard he had a rubber torso I noped out on that one. The lego-looking RHoD was bad enough, but I was still considering it. When I read a review that mentioned the torso that was the deal-breaker for me.

Wait so I just saw the accessory pack, and was finally excited to buy this. I have the old comic Hellboy figure from Mezco (I think released around 2006?), but it lacks a coat.

Came here to post about the new accessories and ask about the articulation, but I reread this whole thread and now I’m torn. Damn you, morality.

I still want Hellboy and the Conan that I preordered last week, but am super aware of the issues. Is there a way I can both insult the owner AND buy the figure? Should I just wait for a CT Toys/ China version?

As I'm pretty sure we went over in this thread; there's no right way to feel about things and there's no right way to handle it. If it bothers you enough that you won't be able to enjoy the figures - then don't buy them. If you can forget everything and just own some toys - do that.

I would hazard to say MOST of you don't know Erik and Catrina personally, so this stuff will never hit as hard for you or move the needle on whether or not you can enjoy or support Andrew's work. And that's totally fair.

I can be a total whore for Hellboy, even with Andrew involved--sadly.

But just the tip, and don't finish in me. Ya know?

I'll buy these, but begrudgingly.

So...BFS just showed the second series of Garfield figures. Now up for PO at Big Bad, and...meh. Arlene, a second toothy grinning Garfield, and a deluxe Jon that...looks VERY off. The headsculpt is not great.

I mean... I don't care about the line but that Jon Arbuckle figure looks EXACTLY like I expect him to. I don't see what you think is so off. He looks just like I remeber from the strip. Not sure what you were expecting, but that is just how I picture a John Arbuckle figure.

I understand who the main character is, but I feel like if this were my line, I'd at least skip a Garfield for one wave. Show customers I'm not trying to sell them the same figure over and over in every wave (and when everyone has all the Garfields they need, the extras won't sell and then they'll blame customers for not supporting the line enough).

The head looks a little weird to me in the first promo photo. I think it's because the angle is not how his head is usually drawn. The Jon figure looks good in the other promo shots. I'm pumped to add him to the Garfield and Ode figures we should be getting any day now. Can I stick with just Garfield, Ode, and Jon? That's all I really want, but I am so weak when it comes to resisting the urge to buy additional characters.

I hope this means Fraggle Rock wave 3 and Classics Popeye wave 4 will be solicited soon. I think Boss Fight has had a bunch of pre-orders all drop within a short period in the past. Maybe I'm just making that up in my head.

The cheeks are too chubby and Cabbage Patch doll like. The head isn't round enough, and the top comes to a point, almost. So, while he may look like what you picture, it's not what I picture.

I really like the look of Wave 2 of the Garfield figures. And once again, I like the accessories just as much if not more than the figures. I love the little mouse that comes with Arlene. The thing is, I just don't know if I need toys of Garfield. I have always liked Garfield. But do I need toys.

It's hard to say. I haven't pre ordered any of these yet except the Halloween pack just due to pure nostalgia. But I do like them. I think I still like Nermal the most. I love the accessory of little Nermal in the package being shipped off.

That's funny, I was just checking out the (wave 1) Garfield figures yesterday morning to decide on starting another new line.

Edit: Okay, now that I've checked him out, John does look to have the mumps. You can tell who he is without the name and it is close, but... We'll have to wait and see if this is addressed. Perhaps in actuality it won't be as off as in the pics--seen this way too many times to depend solely on 2D pics.

If the only difference between the Garfield figures themselves is his expressions, they should just make a faceplate kit. I wouldn't buy a 2nd figure unless they had him in different outfits.

All that said, I like the price point (for regular figures) is staying where it is for now.

Any updates on Popeye Wave 4? That 3/4th of the Wave 1 figures are on clearance for $14 at BBTS and none of the other figures have sold out makes me wonder how successful this has been. I really just want an Alice and a Geezil and would be happy, and Alice should be a pretty easy option given we already have a base Goon.
