Boss Fight Studios 1/12 and EPIC HACKS

Doesn't ring any bells.
I think LC's products actually kind of suck a bit, though, if that's any contribution to this thread. LOATH as I am to admit this - Boss Fight's Sonja looks leaps, bounds, and orders of magnitude better than LC's. I don't think I've actually ever even been tempted by anything LC is making.

Doesn't help that it seems like LC's entire business model is 'I like sculpting huge boobies because I'm a child.'

I would love it if somebody else came along and made a No-Backpain version of La Muerta. I know nothing about that character, but the figure looks friggin' awesome right up until she turns sideways.
 
Its the only way we got some figures i really wanted. Like Purgatori and Lady Death. Red Sonja is probably the best of the LC bunch. I don't hate them. I like them for what they are. But they are overpriced. The BF Sonja is also really good, but I like both figures for different reasons. But i know Taarna was a disaster, I watched a couple videos and heard alot of horror stories. So I skipped her. Also Hellwitch and the black suit Lady D both have bad qc issues too. My Sonjas torso peg snapped. I had to fix it, that was not great. Replace it with a new peg and drill the hole out. Thats kinda why id want BF to do Lara, or maybe even Jada. I think they would kill a Lara Croft figure.

I had issues with Trese, as well. Bummer because she was cool.

I don't even know if that was his claim to fame first or if it's just because his first major effort was Chaos Comics.

I would guess the latter? LC was originally famous because his custom Marvel Legends figures were gorgeous and people were paying him a fuckton of money to make customs for them. I actually almost got a Shatterstar from him many years ago but decided against it. He was legitimately very, very good.
But I also am not sure I can get behind the 'it's the characters not the artist' excuse, especially when I look at his Sonja, who definitely does not have to be double-Ds but still is because... boobies.

I hear you, as a longtime Sonja fan. My least favourite covers are the cheesecake ones, really.

I too prefer Sonja to be more fit then bombshell. Thats why i like both figures. 1 looks like the badass version that'll gut you, and the other looks like the cocky girl that'll **** you lol. And I think the LC Sonja is in E territory maybe? Iirc LC is doing alot of male figures coming up or are already out that are really good looking. Just, again, overpriced for what they are. But they look almost spot on to alot of the artwork of those character. I don't know who they actually are, but they look really good.
 
No i think he was doing characters like "not cable" and "not black suit spiderman." I think they were something Leifield did after XForce or something.

*edit* I just looked them up on BBTS. Grendel, American Flagg, Captain Canuck, Bloodwulf, and Bloodstrike Cabbot Stone. They look really good. But overpriced and i have no attachment to the characters.

Oh yeah wolf guy and guy who looks like brigade but he's not.

I would be interested in more from the Liefeld scene. Especially if we get any era of Glory. I know he lost the legal rights to everything that we associate with him so I'm not really sure how any of that works now.

Yeah that line looks to be a little more polished. Even the Liefeld stuff does.
 
Well, I wasn't going to buy the Boss Fight Red Sonja, but my LCS was having a massive sale so I wound up scoring her for $27! I couldn't pass her up at that price! They only ordered one of her, so I was shocked no one else had snagged her.

Overall, I like her a bit better than the Loose Collector version, but the she still has some issues. She definitely stands better than the LC Sonja, so that is a major plus.
 
I don't like the way the neck pushes forward too much. Some isn't bad, makes sense. But this neck looks kinda bad. And alot of the straps and belts and shit like to shift around when posing and playing, but she is a great figure otherwise. If I didn't grab the amazing Lazy Monkey Elven figures earlier this year she could be my figure of the year. But we have a long way to go and those figures are really really good. And the MAFEX John Wick from chapter 3.

Agreed on the neck and the straps, I sold mine off pretty quick after I got it. She looked okay from the front, but any side profile was crazy with that neck. And, like you said, the straps moved around a bit too much. Articulation wise though, she was pretty good.
