Actually is Monkey Spy also Soldiers of Fortune? I thought the monkey was from a sub-line. I do have him on pre-order too, because who doesn't want Chimp Bond?

He's part of the "Fresh Monkeys" subline, but almost all his pieces are the same as the Spy and he got pretty promo pics around the same time, so I assume he should follow on pretty fast after SoF drops. He's slated for "1st" quarter so we'll see.

Wonder if that means I'll be getting my monkey spy soon. I passed on the basic spy... for now, but I may circle back. Monkey spy just seemed more fun, and also since he's in a white tux he'll fit with my Fixit/Wolverine. Either that or I'll headswap him onto the Balckwatch agent body, he might look better in a suit.

I'm preeeeetty sure they said he's on the boat a couple of weeks ago.

I'm popping my custom Daniel Craig James Bond head onto that body. It's currently on a MAFEX John Wick body.

No, but really that was the selling point. The 1/18 one feels more chimp-scaled to the 1/12 line. I've never stood next to a chimpanzee (astronaut or otherwise), but 4' tall feels more right. Right?

Y'know, now I think I need one to hang out with like, my Classifieds as an actual chimp. My biggest complaint with McFarlane's Detective Chimp is it's VERY possible to make a posable chimp at that scale and here they are.

Why? It wasn't enough to get me to buy the $30 space chimp? Now you are convincing me I need a $100 set of other monkeys as well... and there's two different sets with 3 colors each, so thats hundreds for a multi color monkey army... my resolve is too weak for these kinds of shenanigans

I think he'll be coming to 1/12 eventually. There's another Fresh Monkey already in the chamber after the Monkey Spy. The next one is the Buckaroo Bonzai chimp, but I'm sure they'll get to the space one. Maybe sooner rather than later, if their teamup with Arlen proceeds. He already did spaceman sculpts for the Zombies from Mars kickstarter that failed, but one of the stretch goals there was a BBWS General body with a FMF evil scientist head on it.

Arlen Pelletier has worked on a lot of BBWS/FMF/Spero sculpts (as well as a lot of good ML). Space Zombies from Mars was the kick he and the guy from Spero launched a bit back that didn't work out. The alt head for Dr. Rand in OMF is, as far as I can tell, the same as the alt head for the villain in that set. And they talked at one point about that character having a version from before he goes into space, which was just that head on a blue version of the General Brown body from OMF.

So like, I don't know how much overlap is happening there, but the sculpts for Space Zombies were all done, and IIRC they were shown off at the FMF booth at several shows, so he's in good with those folks. How likely is it they end up using his Space bucks in their lines? No idea, but it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.
