Avengers: Doomsday ML Discussion

Don't know if we'll get real news on this line at SDCC but with the trailer out and merchandise starting to be revealed and leaking I'm hoping it's imminent. So let's talk Marvel Legends Avengers: Doomsday figures! Feel like this movie is gonna need its own thread...

Has anyone been following the leaks for this line-up? As much as I hate story spoilers - and I think we should try to keep them out of this thread by staying focused on the characters - I got real curious to know who was coming so I could prep my collection and get rid of extras while the market is still there.

Most of the info I'm about to mention came from this video. Dan Yun has shot this info down - but of course he did. The images in this video are pretty convincingly awful - and the packaging and s/light accessory counts all match the current line look. And all of it matches to what was shown in the trailer.

What makes me think this is accurate is the Tbolts characters once again getting two-packed. WHY? And Ghost with FALCAP? Of course. I already held on to an extra of him and I need two of her. UGH. And still no Bucky...

Anyway, the toy line-up is getting me more excited at this point then the movie so bring on the SDCC reveals! Apparently Dan also tweeted that ML fans should drop by the booth on Sunday - "Yo Marvel Legends fans who are planning to attend SDCC, typically we do not share a lot of newness on Sundays - maybe a tease or two. But this year, you might want to see what’s going on in the booth Sunday morning." (I couldn't find the direct Twitter link - probably because I'm still calling it Twitter - only an off-brand version).

Fingers crossed the speculation quickly turns to SDCC reveals!!! I really need multiples of that Steve and I can't wait for new FF figs to cannibalize and fix the First Steps missteps.

Who are you most hoping to see revealed at this point?

I want Cyclops, probably Beast, and maaaaybe Nightcrawler. I am hoping the Cyclops and Nightcrawler figures can pass for younger versions.

Beyond that... I already got rid of what Thunderbolts I had aside from Yelena, so too little too late, Hasbro. You can take that Ghost figure and jam it up your ass then set fire to it. Happy with the FF and Avengers I already have, and probably just sticking with the comic Doom that passes for live action to me.

I'm a little off my MCU buys these days but if they fill in some gaps I'd be game. I'm remarkably happy with who I have for most of who appears in the film - Hasbro has done a fantastic fucking job the past like, seven years with MCU characters. An update to Shuri, I'm absolutely loving Joey Quinn as Johnny and I'd buy another version of him. A NOT GIANT Cassie Lang in a heartbeat. But like, the last FF figures are amazing. The Shang Chi set? FUCKING BALLER.

They'd be smart to do a saga or best of series before and/or after as well. Put out some favorites (beyond Iron Man and Spider-Man) to get people like me who cleared a lot out to be tempted to get hooked again. The people who won't buy the new stuff because it would mean they'd have to hunt down some old stuff to have the full team or group or partners or whatever, but wait, no, this Christmas we're doing a Greatest Hits wave with all the guys you're missing!

I still have the Ghost 2-pack with Luis (MISB) that I paid $10Cdn for at Gamestop/EBGames years ago. I actually tried to sell it back in April at a toy show for $10........NO ONE CARED!!!!!! Sorry for the Ghost lovers out there but there is no reason to think you need to pay anything close to full price for it when it comes out.

As to who we saw in the newest trailer......Meh. Nothing really stood out to me. Maybe Cyclops but otherwise everyone else looked either the same as usual, or worse (my opinion). Or not there wasn't a good enough look yet. Also sorry but seeing Gambit and Shang-Chi going at it was supposed to be some badass thing I assume, but it just didn't matter to me.

It will be interesting to see if this moves Legends figures back to the "end cap and pallet" days in stores like Target and Walmart where they get featured and stocked in large quantities.
